This may be tougher than most. All of these players played 2B for the Orioles (years that they were the primary 2B are given). Which one doesn't belong with the rest and why?

OK, I'm going way out on a limb with this one, because I know very little in the way of details pre-1996-ish. I don't really know where the guys on this list came up. but my guess is Roberto Alomar because he's the only one who wasn't a product of the Orioles farm system.

Well, I can tell you that the last 3 are switch hitters.... I know Alan Wiggins was a Padre and did not come up in the O's system and I am not sure McLemore did either. Reynolds certainly did not as well.

Perhaps one of them was not a switch hitter?

Good guess. However, only Brian Roberts is an Orioles farm hand. He was the 50th pick in the first round in 1999. Adair, McLemore and Smith all began with the Angels. Wiggins and Alomar were with the Padres. And Reynolds was with the Mariners. I'll give you the answer. The odd player out is Jerry Adair. But why? I found this fascinating that the O's seemed to have a 2B that did this more often than any other team.

Sonic John must have posted while I was posting. Congratulations! You got it . Jerry Adair is the only non switch hitter. The Orioles had more switch hitting 2B (and good ones) over the years than any other team.

Woo Hoo *opens Pop corn*

I had no idea if Billy Smith was a switch hitter and flat out did not know about Adair. I did figure that the O's had to have something good with Smith to trade Gritch, so I figured being a switch hitter JUST might add to the Smith resume enough to send the gold glover Gritch packing for sunny California.

Jerry Adair.  He is the only one who is/was not a swirch hitter.

BTW. I knew the answer just from looking at the names.  No cheating for me.
