Looks like you don't have to worry about that, because the Flyers came out with a mission and they did a fanstastic job. I congratulate them. I told people, you watch out for them Flyers, this isn't over yet. Seriously though, Congratulations. How bout them fights? WOOOO! Malone got his a$$ beat by Hatcher, haha. Damnit Malone, come on man! :)

That was a great game played by the Flyers last night. The Penguins had a lot of trouble moving the puck and taking any quality shots as the Flyers clogged up the front of the net. Not to mention we came out pretty flat against a team that has nothing to lose and played their hearts out. Here's what i don't get. Yeah, Ryan Malone took a beat down from Darrien Hatcher, but why is it all of 5'3 Tyler Kennedy has been our best fighter in the post season. With 15 seconds left in the game Richards is taking shots with his stick at Sidney Crosby and Therrien still doesn't put Georges Laraque on the ice. I don't remember him dropping the gloves at all in the playoffs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that why Therrien benched him after game 1 against Ottawa last year? We got him to be an enforcer and protect our star players. Drop the gloves already! I have a feeling Sunday's game is going to be just plain nasty and the Pens have to stay out of the penalty box. The Flyers are on a mission and we can't afford to give them extra chances. Hopefully we can get this thing wrapped up at the igloo and move on to the finals.
GO PENS!

Big George tried to drop the gloves with Hatcher in game 2 but he declined. I am sure it was partially due to not wanting to sit for 5 min when they were short defensemen. I am also sure that he really doesn't want to go with Laraque. Who would?

Hi guys!!!! I honestly felt that the Pens had to lose this one to prove to themselves that they have to get better and not to be over confident. Detroit will steam roll us if we play like we did last night.
All it would take for an inexperienced team to lose the series is to get dominated in the opening two games, and the confidence is gone. This loss helps them to realize they can and will lose a few, but now they need to bounce back with a vengence and carrying that over into the Detroit series (assuming both teams win their next game).
Staal looked amazing and the Pens seemed to be a step slow on this one until the third period. I have noticed that Philadelphia has been drained by the third period and has not had a good third period this entire series. This scares me in that Detroit will not be so weak in the third.
Kudos to the Flyers because I feel this game will only make Pittsburgh (and Philadephia) better and force the Penguins into making adjustments, improving their game and playing at their best. Good luck Flyers and Lets Go Pens!!!!

I wouldn't go as far to say that the Pens needed to lose this game, because I would have rather seen them win this and get the extra 2 days rest over the Wings, but it brings them back to earth again, just like in the series agaisnt the Rangers, and they will come out skating and shooting better on Sunday, Therrien will have these guys ready to Rock - N - Roll and show the Flyer what they have done in the first 3 games of this series and thats win...LETS GO PENS... HEEEEE SHOOTS AND SCORES... OH SCRATCH BACK WITH A HACKSAW, HE BEAT BIRON LIKE A RENTED MULE

Thanks HardHitt3n, but I think we can all say that the series isn't over yet, you guys played one hell of a game last, was it too late?....we'll find out Sunday. Anyways I congratulate the Flyers and their fans as well, they have put up a fight to get into the POs played well in the first 2 series, but seemed to have hiccuped in the first 3 games of this series, only to find themselves in game 4.
I have only recently started posting again here, I try to find the more respectful posts and and get into those discussions. Anyways good luck Sunday and I am sure I am not the only one who is looking forward more years to come of the healthy rivalry between the Pens and Flyers.
Go Pens!!!

Shhhh! HardHitt3n! Didn't you see those posts where we are all mindless idiots that can't play nice? You're giving us a bad name!
Seriously, go get 'em Pittsburgh. Don't get me wrong, I hope you have a monumental storybook collapse in the next three games, but if you don't then best of luck against the West. Those guys think they're infallable. Although I can see why Detroit feels that way.
