Looks like SDSU will have a decent lineup in '09. Both Shelley and Thomas from Pepperdine will be Aztecs next season so Wade's departure will not be felt too bad.

They needed that for '09 to keep up after loosing their seniors this year. I think they still need a little more help to fully compensate.

Just to clarify...Wade will be back for his senior season next season at SDSU, and Shelley & Thomas will be eligible the following season (2009-10).

Very good pickups for SDSU if...IF...Thomas can keep up with the school work, and if Shelley's supposedly less than sterling attitude improves.

If all works out, though, this will turn out to be a great day for the Aztecs.  Plucking the two best players from a division 1 school aint bad.

Well, that still gives us 3 schillies. I have a feeling Thomas might end up regretting his decision to go to SDSU over UNLV.

Nothing against Thomas, but I'm kinda working under the assumption that we didn't offer him a scholarship.  I think the whole grades thing likely scared the coaching staff away.

Right rock. Sometimes I think our assumptions as to what is happening isn't exactly the same as LK's game plan. With Thomas, they might be taking on another Spain? There's been enough said about that, and maybe Kruger, after meeting with him during his visit, just never offered a schollie?

He also might have not have liked the idea of competing for playing time. If Mitchell is our SF in '09 as everyone expects, Lopez, Santee and Shaw would be here in '09 to compete for PF. At SDSU, he's the big fish in a smaller pond.

Bottom line is SDSU needs help for '09, and this should help ease the pain of those leaving. Lorenzo Wade, Ryan Amaroso, Kelvin Davis, Kyle Spain & Ritchie Williams is quite a hole to fill.

haha thats funny c-hoop rebels did offer scholly he chose sdsu because shelly chose sdsu by the way Thomas is much better than shaw and Santee and you guys can have lopez i would much ruater have athletic beast he is much better than three and would start.

Thomas got an offer and chose sdsu you know it so admit it as for Shelly he is a bonified super-star with the right coaching and a future nba player and draftee unlike Wink

In case you haven't noticed, the overall opinion is that we would rather have Jasper than Thomas an Shelley. Don't get me wrong, they are both talented but you cannot sit there and say that Thomas is better than Lopez. This kid is performing well and I'll tell you what, WE WILL MOP THE FLOOR WITH SDSU. WE WILL TAKE OUR SUB-PAR recruits and FLAT OUT WIN!!!! Truth is we will rule this conference for ne next 3-5 years and you can take Shelley with his crappy attitude and Thomas with his shitty grades and have them TRY to beat us. IT's not going to happen. REBELS STOMP ALL OVER AZTECS, ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!!!

I was thinking the same thing River Rock, who truly knows, well except for the lone SDSU fan on the board.

The one thing we do know to be true, LK makes players better, and he knows what he is looking for in the players that he has chosen. The other thing is, we know that players do not get better playing for Coach Fisher. I am not trying to hate on Coach Fisher, it is just plain true. I have met Coach Fisher on more than one occasion with his buddy Bill Freider, they are very nice guys and I do like them, but I would not want either to be the coach at UNLV, they just are not great b-ball coaches. The only success this guy has seen on the court came with the fab 5, after that the Michigan program was on a rapid decline. Good guy, not a good coach.

So take the previously described players, and have fun getting stomped by the Rebels, along with BYU, UNM & Utah for that matter. The main reason is we just have a better coach, well that and SDSU has done nothing but suck for there entire b-ball history. Enjoy the upcoming season big guy,  I hope your looking forward to it as much as we are.

GO REBELS!
