Can you please start sending some hate mail to the man thats trying to make sports a bigger issue in America than potentially paying 4 bucks for gas, electing a new President, or fighting a war? Maybe if you all told this guy it was no way he'd be reelected, he'd stop this nonsense of trying to be the mother of the NFL. I care about football more than anybody, but its just important enough to have the attention of the people who run the country when there are real issues they could and should be dealing with. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the majority of NFL fans have moved on..... Whoever it is that paid Spector to fight this fight must have paid him well, cause he's willing to make himself look pretty dumb while continuing to fight.

Plus, he's trying to draw attention away from his "alleged" molestation of homeless orphans. Thats always the case nowadays. He has so much moral integrity as to call out somebody for cheating at a game but he says nothing about the case against him. Comcast bosses must be idiots too. If they succeed at smearing the NFL, their precious "NFL Network package" wont sell. I guess they figure "if we call out our dog (Spector), the NFL will fold and give us what we want". It doesnt seem to be wrking, nor does it seem it will work at all.

Wow. That's rough, man. Two points for comedy at least. Pretty harsh for a guy undergoing chemo that has been a pretty good Senator for the past 28 years. Single Bullet Theory or not, he's been fine. That says a lot considering how much I despise politicians. At least he hasn't accidently drown any young girls in a car off Chappaquiddick...that we know of.

Spector is a moron who gets mail from me on a regular basis ...he is an old fart who will never change and needs to retire..Every now and then he votes against Bush on something just to make it look like he is not following Bush and the republicans but he is basically in lock step with them...the republicans are going to get creamed in this years senate and congressional races. so he's about to become a useless member of a huge minority in our government

better - he's not a neo-con. That's why he doesn't always vote with Bush. He's old school republican. His views on personal life and civil liberties leans pretty left. Thats why the Democrats in PA like him more than the Republicans do.

The Republicans kind of have their hands tied with him.  The state is somewhat left, so they have their choise it seems between either the incumbent Republican that is pretty centrist, or a much more Liberal Democrat running against him. They may as well stick with Arlen, and the Dems seem to be completely cool with it. As long as they keep Arlen in office, they'll never have a far right winger get in.

I am a resident of Pennsylvania and not a fan of Arlen Specter, primarily because he is a Republican in name only.  A local paper has resorted to calling him a "Republicrat" because his voting record is decidedly in line with the democratic party.  That being said, the Patriots fans always seem to resort to this "hide the ball" smoke and mirrors argument to divert attention from the real issue.  The issue is not whether Arlen Specter has anything better to do or whether he should be sticking his nose in NFL issues. Congress did get very involved in performance enhancing in drugs in baseball so there is precedence for our elected officials getting involved in professional sports.  The issue is likewise not why Matt Walsh had the tapes.  The issue is why the Patriots engaged in a continuous pattern of taping coaching signals of opposing teams in violation of league rules, jeopardized the integrity of the game, and then when caught, the coach lied to the commissioner's face.  The memo issued by the league in 2005 or 2006 left no room for interpretation, or misinterpretation of the applicable rules.  That is why Roger Goodell has said that he never for a moment believed Bill Belicheck's excuse that he misinterpreted the rules.  The real issues clearly are why the NFL did not appoint an outside investigator to conduct an impartial and thorough investigation, why the NFL destroyed evidence, why the investigation that the NFL did conduct was clearly intended to not uncover anything more than what it learned last September and October.

What Congress did, was waste a lot of time. Bud Selig did what he did with the steriod policy because the media finally got him to crack. What good will come from this? They can take all the credit for "bringing a tougher steroid policy", but what can they show us that we dont already know with this? Thats why I said this crap is a waste of time. This is a GAME, let the game's commish take care of its problems. If it was a big business cheating the public out of their money, our politicians should get on it. If its the American public being exploited for oil by some country that doesnt even like them, politicians should get on it, if tor
