Assuming the finals ends up Pens vs Detroit (baring a miracle) can anybody ever remember two cup finalists blowing through their conferences like this in the same year? Usually the playoffs are a bit tighter. Detroit is 11-2 the Pens are 11-1. Wow! It should be a good series in the finals!

Cant wait for this Stanley Cup to start, Im assuming it will be Pens/Wings.  2 incredeable offensive teams, and MA Fleury is playing far better than I ever thought he would.  It should be a great Cup

It's kinda tough not being this good being that the Penguins picked in the TOP TWO FOUR YEARS IN A ROW....

So the winning formula in the NHL is to finish dead last 4 years in a row, then dominate!!!

Excuse me if I'm wrong here, but didn't the Rangers miss the playoffs 7 straight years not all that long ago? Maybe you didn't finish last all those years, and maybe you didn't pick 1st or 2nd, but it seems like sucking hasn't paved the way to greatness for you guys.

Sure, having the opportunity to draft Fleury, Malkin, Crosby, and Staal would benefit any team, but they are far from the only reason why the Pens are where they are right now. It's called having a smart organization that also snatches up guys like, Malone, Orpik, Whitney, Letang, and Talbot. And making the correct moves in free agency and trades to bring in guys like Hossa, Sykora, Gill, and Gonchar. It's taking a look at the team as a whole and fitting together the right pieces of the puzzle.

The Pens were very smart in letting guys leave such as Jagr, Straka, and Kovalev knowing a lock out and potential salary cap was looming. Sure it drained the talent pool of the team and brought about some bad seasons, but was the smart thing to do with the "new NHL" coming.

I guess the Pens should do it the Rangers way and just run out and grab every high priced free agent they can. Oh wait, that doesn't work very well does it?

That's all fine and dandy but the east is incredibly weak compared to the west and the Premiere hockey team of planet earth the Detroit Redwings. Of course the best final would be the Wings and Pens because they are high flying and goal scoring unlike the teams that ruined hockey like New Jersey, Steroid junkie gorilla Anaheim and San Chokesee with their incerdibly boring style of play. Bettman must be smiling since that weasel just about ruined hockey beyond repair with his feminine approach to playing the game. I grew up watching real North American rough and tough man hockey not this candy ass feminine version. No wonder the ratings are the worst they have ever been. Way to go Bettman. Thank God Mike Ilitch wants to win no matter what restrictions are placed on him. The wings will bring home another Stanley Cup and they will do it in a hard fought seven games. That should help revitalize hockey.

Ov, the West being better than the East isn't so anymore. They're very close, with the bulk of the best young talent in the East. However, I will say the Wings seem to stand head and shoulders above everyone in both conferences.
