I was reading this article on rivals.  Milestone performances during the BCS era.  They show how many 1,000 yard rushers, how many 3,000 yard passers and how many 1,000 yard receivers.  Hawaii had the most with 0 / 9 / 13.  Oregon state and Texas Tech both tied with 18.  Texas Tech 1 / 8 / 9.  Oregon State was very well balanced with 8 / 5 / 5.

Ohio State only had a total of 9 but they have played for the national championship more than once.  Same with USC but they had a total of 15.  What this tells me is that while it may be fun to watch those 1,000 and 3,000 yard guys you really need to have a wide variety of options and a well balanced team.  Not necessarily a team with stars.  It helps to have both.

I'm thinking OSU is going to have a wide variety of options this year and stars.  We may not completely turn the corner this year, but next year look out!!!!

Awesome, looking at the chart we take 1st in 2 categories and 2nd in 1000 rec. in the Pac-10, if you take our numbers and compare them to the SEC we are #1 in about all categories there too.  Good to see that good numbers can be produced from our "mediocre" recruits at OS.  Guess that is why so many people are surprised by the performance of some of our players that go on to the NFL...guess they shouldn't be surprised anymore with those stats out there.  I love when the SEC makes a big deal about their programs, cause I always love bringing up that OS vs LSU game.

I love stats......I'm a Beaver fan so I've never put much stock in them, but I do love stats.  I would really like to see the Beavs  play a few SEC teams.  The Penn game is a good start, but it would be nice to pick up LSU or Tennessee every other year.  I'm tired of listening to East coasties spam the message boards with their crap about how much better they are than the PAC.  Our problem is we consistantly have 7 strong teams in conference who beat eachother up all year.  It's virtually impossible to make it through a PAC 10 schedule without a loss, even if your initials are USC.
