Im in a keeper league and was hoping that their are some savvy Giants fans out there that can give me the scoop on Nate Schierholz. How good is this kid and what are his chances of getting called up this season?

Seems to me from what I have looked at that this kid should be on the roster now over some of the other options the team is carrying. Whats the scoop on this kid? Any feedback would be appreciated as I'm considering picking the kid up and stashing him in my minor leagues.

My RF situation has been in flux all year (I have 2 options between Andre Ethier and Ryan Ludwick but both are only getting part time duty) and hope that this kid could be the option that I've been looking for (unless either of my other options stumbles into a starting gig).

Here is the schoop on Nate Schierholtz as he has been fantastic as last season with his call up was hitting over .300 but his power was not materializing so he went to the minors and started working on his power that has been doing great.  The Giants only have in Fresno because they didn't have room as Fred Lewis and Rajai Davis were out of options to begin the season.  When the Giants released Rajai Davis they brought up John Bowker as Dave Roberts is on the DL and didn't want to bring up Schierholtz and not have a spot for him.  Come the deadline one of the Giants outfielders is being moved if it be Randy Winn or Dave Roberts.  The other big things is many of the players on the roster are multi position players so moving Ray Durham, Rich Aurillia, Omar Vizquel or the 2 outfielders should allow Nate to be brought up.  Come August He will be in the bigs as he deserves it and the Giants just need to make a spot for him which they will.  So late season call up will be here to stay great player .300 AVG 20 HR 80 RBI's and the kid also has a laser for an arm so he is a good player all around.

Thanks alot for the scopp CentralCal. Looks as though the guy is worthy of one of minor league slots and hopefully can provide a late season push when he gets the call. Who knows, maybe he shows enough to make my keeper list but he would really have to put on a display.

I also think Bowker was called up instead of him because Schierholz had a minor injury at the time
