His name is AJ Green. He played in Summerville, SC. And he played for the best high school coach in the nation, John McKissick.

John McKissick is the winningest coach in all of high school football with 556 wins. He has coached Summerville to 10 state titles. Lets here what he has to say about AJ Green.

"I have been coaching for 56 years and he (AJ Green) is the best athlete I have ever had on offense, defense or special teams. He is a remarkable player and can do anything. He returned a total of nine punts this season and four of them were for touchdowns. He caught over 80 passes for over 1,500 yards and scored another 24 touchdowns. Only special players can do things like that. He had another great season."

AJ Green is 2nd in the nation in all-time receiving yards for a high schooler and was a 4 time All-American. This kid has seen every defensive formation and stratagy that can be thrown at him and ripped it open each and every year. He is going to make an immediate impact at UGA.

Bump for finally getting a big time possession receiver at the University of Georgia!

DerekRoss you are correct sir. I am from Moncks Corner SC , and back in the 80's Summerville was our arch-rival. One thing McKissick knows is football talent. He has coached up a few kids that have gone on to the NFL, and if anyone is a purveyor of talented football players it is him.

I went to see my old school (shout out to the Berkeley STAGS !!) play against Summerville twice. Once his junior year and the other this past fall; and the hype is all true. Granted the db's at Berkeley were only average high school players, he was soo dominant against them that with a little muscle poundage added on i can easily see him doing the same to the SEC db's as well.

He has that special ability to mentally rise above the competition, he has that game speed that most aren't prepared for when it hit's em', and he is a winner having played for a perrennial power in SC like Summerville.

I almost cried when i saw he had committed early to the Dawgs. But on the flip, Clemson picked up the 2-3-and4 wr's in the state. So there.

Thanks for the input. I agree, the only thing in AJ's way is his muscle. But as a possession receiver in the UGA offense, he won't need too much beef, just needs to jump up and haul in those play action bombs of Staffords.

The impressive thing is this kid has done it every single year and has been an All-American each year. When someone is doing something great for so long, it just shows that no matter the gameplan the kid will outsmart the defense.

I'm sure he will be an instant impact, as so was Massaqoui during his freshman year.

Ah, possession receiver is just a trait he has dubbed for being able to haul in just about any pass thrown his way, couple that with Staff's ability to make every throw on the field, with Moreno and King opening up the secondary is potential for one of the most explosive pro-style offenses in the country.

He runs a 4.5 so he doesn't have the game breaking speed, nor will he break alot of tackles, but he can jump up and snag just about anything around him.

I can't wait to see Julio, the only flaw I see in him is he can get frustrated and tend to disappear sometimes.

osufanatic-if he can consistantly catch the football, I don't care what kind of receiver he is. We have the no-catchingness bunch of receivers in the nation. It's why Stafford's comp % and int's are so high. He'd be a 60-65% QB if we could even halfway catch a ball.

The only thing asked from an UGA WR is be able to square up and block your man, and to be able to hang on to the ball to move the chains. We don't need play making, tackle breaking, do-it-all WR's. Of course it would be nice to have that, but UGA doesn't run a spread offense where the receivers are asked to be able to get YAC.
