Dan Marino in his prime with a solid Defense and a 1000 yard rusher would have won more Super Bowls than Montana, Brady, or Bradshaw.

That being said I think plugging Marino into the current system would do the trick. For those games where the Defense can't hold them under 20 and Ronnie Brown is not getting the yards then we rely on Marino.  How could we lose?

We can't lose. This is the Dolphins we are talking about here. Dan Marino all the way have Peyton Manning as the backup.

Thrilla, I would have to agree with most of what you said about Ronnie but to say that Ricky Williams is or was not as good as LT in Ricky's Prime? I would have to say that is crazy. Ricky Williams was feared by every team in the NFL, like LT, but Williams IMO has more power than LT and would get those tougher yards. Ricky still had the speed to break make it to the outside and breakaway.

Not saying LT is not a great back, I just think that Ricky (in his Primse) was equaly as good if not better then LT.

Unfortunately for us Phin fans, Ricky gave up on the team and himself.

Never in my life would i want to see Tom Brady on the Dolphins. First of all Peyton Manning is better than him. Second of all its a lot easier to look cool under pressure when you know the defensive reads because you have been taping their signals. Thats takes credibility away from everything brady has proven. and rickey williams in his prime was better than LT of a couple years ago. Everybody knew he was all they had on offense, the offensive line was poor and he still won the rushing title. all that said, i would want adrian petersen he is the future right now

Peyton Manning. He is the best qb in  the league. And by the time he hangs up his jersey, he'll have broken all of Marino's and Farve's records.

If we could pick a retired player, no hesitation for Barry Sanders.

I know I know, I love Dan Marino but Barry Sanders is the most amazing player in my opinion to ever play the game.

I came very close to picking Sanders. My issue was the same reason I didn't pick Ricky Williams. They both "quit" in their prime.

Since we are keeping this to current players, and I tend to favor some of the older nutra-system players...lol...I admit it, I do.

My choice would have to agree with so many others..Payton Manning hands down. Brady is a Patriot...nuff said.

Barry Sanders (the best RB EVER) retired because of a couple reasons....
He was on an awful team with an extremely long contract that he couldn't get out of.
He didn't want to play until his knees gave out like Walter Payton.
He still played for 10 years...that's not a short career....it's not long, but it's not really short.

Ricky Williams was a monster! I remember seeing him plow through someone and knock them back like 5 yards when he was going into the endzone while on the Dolphins. The defense knew who was getting the ball every first and 3rd down, and he still managed to get 1850 yards with nearly a 5 yard average. He had the power to break tackles, the agility to make em miss, and the speed to break a long one. He was the complete package in a RB.  Hopefully he's still half as good as he was then.

Deleware you crack me up.  Also your avaitar is hott man.  I would like to see Wes Welker back on the team.  he WAS my favorite current dolphin.  got to respect a man that can say before a game, "i used to kick in high school let me try" when Olindo Mare went down before that game.  He kicked a field goal, extra point and kicked off all while returning kicks too.  A true player

Since the question was who in the league would we want on our time I will say Champ Bailey.  He would immediately cover a huge weakness on this team and probably get us 2-4 more wins, which is closer to the playoffs.  Peyton Manning is an excellent player but he cant play defense.

Phins-Ed,
I guess i see what you mean, Rickey Williams did have a couple of great years, but the reason why i would still take LT over Mary-jane, er Rickey WIlliams is that, like finsfan4ever said he quit, if history repeated it self we would get a few good years followed by all these headaches.
Some people are talking past players. I have always loved Walter Payton, he would have been great, but I am going to have to go with none other than James Nathanial (Jim) Brown. In 2002 Sporting News (which is sometimes full of crap) named Jim Brown the best football player of all time. Even better than Barry Sanders, sorry Del, My Brother a big Detroit fan and we have this argument a lot, I am all about Jim Brown.

But for the sake of this discussion, i stick with LaDainian Tomlinson, followed by Peyton Manning. sorry for going off track with players not in the league anymore.

You know i have seen some great names up here for retired I will go with marino of course but for active for some reason I keep coming back to Adrian Peterson I don’t know why as I think manning is the best in the business at the moment at qb and we have Ronnie Brown but there is something about him I just love the way he plays this game Go Fins

all i have to say is Adraian Peterson is twice the injury prone player Ronnie Brown is and plays behind twice the line Miami Dolphins can offer.
