The Angels open a 3-game series against the Dodgers on Friday in Anaheim. A co-worker of mine is supposed to hook me up with tickets...hoping anyways!

I was hoping to hear fellow Angels' fans thoughts (and Dodgers fans if they see this) on the upcoming Freeway Series. Expectations?  Who wins the series?

The Dodgers have been playing some pretty good ball lately. I think, if I recall correctly, they had an 8-game win streak recently. I will be happy if we take 2 out of 3 from them, considering we're at home. Plus, the AL always puts a whoopin' on NL teams.  Also, I'm hoping that Chone Figgins and Howie Kendrick are back by then. Big John is supposed to be returning Wednesday, all depending on Scoscia's assessment, and could pitch in this series.

Let the domination continue!
Go Angels.

The Dodgers really don't have a good core of players and really arn't a match for our Angels.

The Dodgers will come into Anaheim to get an old fashion sweep.

Wow!!! I always thought the Dodgers were a minor league team, LOL.

Just kidding Dodger fans.

Anywho,

Here are the match up for this weekend end.

Game 1- Saunders (6-1) vs. Kuroda (1-2) Win

Game 2- Santana (6-0) vs. TBA. (couldn't find out who was listed) Win

Game 3- Weaver (2-5) vs. Penny (5-3) This is our questionable match up because Weaver is a good pitcher with great stuff, but he has been in a slump so it can go either way in game three. The one thing going for us is that the Angels are hitting and the Dodgers are not. Hopefully that will be the difference maker in game three.

Just some fun facts as of today.

The Dodgers are in 2nd place in the weak N.L. West with the Gaints in 3rd place with the record of 16-23 (.410). Most of there games outside of the West division they are playing .500 ball which are average numbers, and the Dodgers are also on a 4 game losing streak which won't help them coming into Anaheim.

The Angels are in 2nd place in a somewhat weak A.L. West (The A's are just floating on air right now, but they will fall soon). Our Angels are 23-17 (.575) and have faced much better teams then the Dodgers have. We have had a core group of players out with injuries for a period of time (Lackey, Escobar, Kendrick, K-rod, Shields, Figgins, and some others) and we have still been able to keep up with the top teams in baseball.

Just with the facts and the match ups listed over this weekend I see the Angels taking at least 2 out of the 3 games with a good chance to sweep the Dodgers.

GO ANGELS!!!

Although I dont think the Angels will sweep, I wouldnt put it past them. My prediction is Angels win the series 2-1. Dont be surprised if we see some extra innings in a game or two since there is alot of pride and bragging rights on the line.

The way the Angels have been playing god knows what will happen in this series. I do agree i think they will take 2 out of 3. The Dodgers look pretty good this year but who knows. I think we will take the first 2 games with our dominante pitchers.

I'll go with 2 of 3.  Scioscia owns the Dodgers and we have really taken it to them the past few years.  A sweep wouldn't surprise me, though our bats have been quiet this week.  I expect a good start out of all three guys this weekend though.  Saunders and Santana have been solid and Weaver looked great in his last start even though we didn't back him up for a W.  Lackey's return should take some pressure off Weaver.

Don't underestimate a very good Dodger's team that is starting to find it's rythym, but with Furcal on the DL they'll find it hard to get a spark going against our pitchers.  Figgy won't be eligible to return until at least Monday, so we'll have to get it going without him and Kendrick.  But we can do that.

I too would be happy with 2 of 3 but we need to start sweeping teams when we have the opportunity.  I get a feeling that we are way to comfortable just winning a series.  We need more of a killer instinct and hopefully that starts this weekend.  Figgy and Howard would give us a huge boost right now.

AngelsLakers85-- I am always getting offered tickets to Halo games and can't make some of them[-- I'd be happy to pass them on to someone who I know will use them

Thanks, Hibbby. Maybe sometime for sure!

Game 1 is now in the books.  The story of the game was Joe Saunders picking up his AL-leading 7th win, making him 7-1 now.  The only hiccup in the start was a 2-run shot from Andre Ethier.

Go Angels!

Well, tonight was perfect from a sports standpoint...Angels beat the Dodgers and continue the DOMINATION and the Lakers close out the Jazz.
