Do you guys cover the best team or the popular teams? Should we consider you guys credible sources for baseball since that's what you attempt to be?

Why do us true baseball fans that want to see the best teams have to be force fed those northeast teams? I personally want to see the teams that are doing well regardless of where they play or how popular their players are.

Right now some of the best teams in baseball are short mentions on your highlights shows and don't appear on any of your national broadcasts. This includes the team with the best record in baseball.

STOP SERVING THE BANDWAGON FANS!!!

Its business for them. It is all about ratings. Maybe if the fans of South Florida started showing up in the thousands instead of hundreds to their teams games then you might get some more coverage.

lets see.....50K a game to a yankee game with millions watching or 1500 a game to a Marlins game with maybe 10,000 watching....as an company placing ads with the TV stations i wouldn't pay more than a few hundred to have my ad up there if the Marlins were on.

If the Yankees were on, different story.

you're just realizing this is happening?!

I hate the fact that they serve the Cubs... I hate having to listen to Joe Buck or Peter Gammons call a game... I wish none of the Cubs games were on Fox or ESPN... I ENVY YOU! lol

Positive, this post makes no sense.  I agree that there needs to be more diversity in the games and hoghlights they show.  I would love to see them show some games of teams that are hot now, instead of the usual suspects playing each other.

However, your premise that they are serving Bandwagon fans is flat wrong.   Fans who jump on the bandwagon would root for the team that is hot now, instead of the ones that have a consistently higher fan base.

The number of fans who go to NE games might go up when they have good teams, but they also start at a much higher point then other teams, so to say they are more popular now is a very relative term.

You are confusing your rants.

This has to be done and MLB should insist that all the teams get covered, they are all equal parrtners in MLB.  There are intruiging stories developing all over MLB but most people dont know about them, all they know is what is going on with the Red Sox and Yankees.
Locals in that region can get all the Rsox and Yankee baseball they can handle from local sources.  MLB should be covered more equitable and fairly.

I agree, it seems 9 times outta 10 the nationally televised games include one or both of the teams mentioned in the threads above.  Thank God for FSN covering 90 something percent of the Tigers games!!!!

Fox and ESPN paid a ton of money for the right to cover the games and as soon as MLB accepted that money they lost control of which games get featured. Fox and ESPN have only one group of people to answer to at that point, their stockholders. They have to put the hightest rated games possible on each week so they can charge more for the commercial units and make back all that money they paid for the rights. It's just business, nothing personal. I know you guys feel you have a case but national television ratings say you're wrong. I'd be pissed too but I'm a Yankee fan

Exactly. I feel that all of us that want coverage of our local teams can look at local stations. When I turn on the programs that are supposed to show national stuff, I expect to see everything, not a repeat of what I can see if I were living in NY. There is no excuse for teams like the Marlins and Athletics sitting atop their divisions and being 10 second mentions after 30 minutes of highlights after other teams have been shown.

What's FOX going to do if the Marlins and Rays make it to the Series? Are they going to cancel their coverage and defer it to ESPN 543 in the Amazon Jungle?
