Ok, Jimmy Rollins goes down right, i'm fine though, because i have Yunel Escobar on my bench.

But after Week 5 i wasn't very happy with the Alex Gordon/Mark Reynolds tandem i had at 3rd, and Edgar Rentaria, a perfectly respectable start at SS, was sitting there as a Free Agent.

So i pick up Rentaria, drop Reynolds, shift Escobar to third and Start Rentaria at SS.

Rentaria this week. 0-18, 0 RBI, 1 Run scored, 0 SBs.

Grand Total: 1 point.

I know the feeling. Picked up Renteria as well, seeing how Furcal went down.

If that wasn't bad enough, Chone Figgins goes down and I pick up Adrian Beltre. And he had a tough week.

Then not to mention Orlando Hudson goes down, so I pick up Kendrick because he was suppose to ready to play, Then did not see any action other than last Monday.

Now Manny and Ortiz are taking turns missing games. On and on it goes...

You traded Chase Utley?!?!?!?!?  I can understand giving away Pat Burrell (really hope you got something decent out of it) because he's a halfseason player traditionally (that might change though this year)

Are you nuts?  Like, I know you're kicking yourself now...but why make that trade?  You can't get his fantasy production out of any other 2nd baseman in the league.  People always laugh at me when I do it, but he's been my first round choice every year since 2006.  Why?  Because no one produces as consistant as he does from that position, nobody.  I could always get the bigtime HR or the 15-20 & 200K guy in the first round, but I can get two just as solid guys to make up for that in the next 2-4 rounds.  2006, I was laughed and laughed and laughed at for picking Chase Utley.  6 weeks into the season, I was getting trades for 3-4...one time even 5 players straight up.  Was never worth it.

To me, Chase Utley has been priceless in fantasy league because of his consistancy each and every week.  His slumps usually never last any more then 3-4 games, and at the end of the season, he always tends to play lights out.  Actually, he does have a pricetag on me.  It's called 2 1st places finishes and 1 2nd place (1-2-1 past 3 seasons...and those are the only seasons I've played fantasy BB) and almost 2k.  Thanks Chase Utley, you helped me fund my new beermeister last year and a PS3 at christmas time.  This year...new Bose Sound System (10 speaker and a bass) is my goal.

Renteria had a good week the week BEFORE you got him in your lineup so how were you to know he would have a meltdown last week.  I'm in the same boat.  LOL  His meager output cost me two league wins here at CBS this past week.  Oh well, crap happens right?  As for Utley?  I got him, Atkins, and Wainright for Dustin Pedroia, David Wright, and Bronson Arroyo.  I think I got the better end of that deal....

If you had Renteria all along, you've gotten good mileage out of him overall for the season.  I got him in my autodraft league, and he tore it up for the first month of the year.

Currently, he and Sheffield are hitting back to back, and they're doing nothing.  It's a big reason why the Tigers haven't stepped out of that early season hole.
