Also I think Kansas will really fall back this year and only get 8 wins.

LOL. I think 6 wins is more like it. They play OU, Texas and Texas Tech from the South this year. Then they still have to play Mizzou and South Florida. Colorado should be better this year along with Nebraska.

They dont have the Hawaii Style schedule from last year. I see them struggling a bit. If they can fill the void of Talib, that would help. This year will be tough for them no doubt.

As i said in my other post Percy, think you made some balsy calls. However when i read it the first time i missed the typo on 21, seems you spelled FSU backwards. And other than that...

Nice original Top 25. Though, I disagree with a few spots. If you're going by schedule for 08 and not purely a power team, Missouri has as good shot as any team. So does Ohio State, even if they lose to USC. If OSU can get by Illinois, they'll be right there.

Ones I don't agree with and who I'd replace with:

Clemson: Bowden is not a good coach. I suspect they'll have another ho-homer 8 win season. I'd put Texas Tech in their spot and delete them from the Top 25.

Arizona State: Unless their O-line can improve they'll be just an 7 or 8 win team. I'd put them at 20-25. I'm a Pac-10 homer and I'm not that impressed with them. Oregon and USC's d-line combined for almost 20 sacks in those games. And we saw what Texas did to them.

Alabama: Too tough of a conference. Saban is good, but he doesn't have the talent Urban had his second season. I'd kick them out of the Top 25 completely or right at 25.

USF: From what I saw Oregon to them...I was not impressed at all. This was an Oregon team who was playing with their 4th string QB. I can't justify them in the Top 25. But, I'll admit I only watched them in the Oregon game. So, it could of just been a bad game for them? I'd move Virginia up and replace USF with Colorado.

One thing I know from being a Pac-10 homer...watch Cal shock everyone. When expectations are low...this team exceeds. If Jahvid Best plays...he's gonna be ridiculously good. They have some great players.

I like the Trojans being out of the #1 spot. That's when they do good. Trojans will win the title, IMHO. How else could I see it?

Nice work Percy.  Very good predictions based upon good research.  I'm curious to see what intangibles reveal themselves and what other distractions happen during the season that will throw this whole thing out of whack.  There have got to be other Perrilloux's and Hornsby's out there.

I'll throw my comments in here.

1-5 are as good as anyone's poll.

FL at #6 right now is a HUGE stretch.  They are absolutely stacked on offense, but their defense was horrible last year.  If I would have seen improvement as the season went on I wouldnt think nearly as much into it as I do, but there was little to no improvement.  I honestly believe that most of the secondary has already topped out talent wise.  If you look back at FL's wins from last year, they werent impresive at all.  They simply outscored their opponent, they didnt really beat them if you get my pdrift.  TN was the exception though.  I think FL tanks again this year and should finish in the high teens or low 20's.  Judging by their final ranking from last yaer though, They will probably be a top 12 team no matter what their record is.

I like Clemson where they are.  They really need to get over that hump though and quit giving away games they should win.  If their Oline stays healhy and their RB combo stays healthy I think this is the year they put those games away in the 4th quarter,

LSU, not sold on as a top 20 team until I see the QB play college football.  I dont care how good the rest of their team is, if they cant get steady, consistant QB play LSU will fall into mediocrity.  I think they finish the season 8-4 with losses to UGS, FL, Auburn and 1 team they should beat but fail to put the game away.

Wisconin is too low.  They should be at least in the top 10.  This is a hard nosed team that knows how to put a game away when they get the chance.  There wont be any repeats of last year where their offense is stagnant for quarters at a time.

Kansas will also turn some moe heads this year.  They finish in the top 10 again and receive their second BCS birth in a row.

TN will be out of the nation picture by midseason.  They have no reson to be ranked, now or any other time of the year.

Some different but not over the top.

However when i read it the first time i missed the typo on 21, seems you spelled FSU backwards. And other than that...

That would be University of South Florida. I doubt the Noles will be top 25 anytime soon.

BanginJimmy............

You have low opinions about LSU, Florida and Tennessee but high regards for Wisconsin? You must be implying that the Badgers are head and shoulders better than the other 3.

Mmmmm  Three losses by Missouri still makes them a Very Good Team but #1???

Errrr... they don't play Oklahoma in regular season.. but  Must play Texas and Illinois (Both losses I predict!)... Place them in the Big 12.. where they will meet either Oklahoma or Texas (again!)

Missouri a TOP 10.. but #1???... Ouch!!!!

My Pre-Season (Fav Five!)

1. Georgia (until they lose a game!)

2. the OSU (until they lose a game!!)

3.Oklahoma (until they lose a game (it might not happen!)

4. USC

5. Florida (see Georgia!)

I would say Clemson is not a TOP 10 (but likely best in ACC!) AND that ND will be a TOP 20 Team in 2008!!

Bangjimmy you are an idiot. You have no Idea how good UT is going to be next year. We will be alot better than the team that beat wisconsin in the bowl game. We also went undefeated @ home last year and get florida in Knoxville this year. Next time, have a clue about what you are talking about before you make stupid posts like the one I am replying to. Idiot

So are we just suppose to forget about how well they played for the first 8 games last year? Ya know when they beat up on WVU. USF will still be good.

Yes you are a homer. Cal is never good even when they do have GREAT players. I see another 7-6 year for the bears.

Percy you realize that you have Auburn at 12

and they must Play
Georgia LSU and WVU and all are ranked ahead of them.... implying that they will likely lose to them which would make them a 3 loss team???

I was never high on TN, including during the bowl game.  They were FAR too inconsistant to really be considered anything more than a talented team that plays like an average team.  Last year we can look at 2 games to prive my point.  Spurts of greatness like the way they played UGA, then they follow it up with an embarassing loss to Bama.

I never said FL and LSU were bad teams, they just have too many question marks for me to have them ranked in the top 10.  In the case of LSU, in the top 15.  QB is the single most important position on the field.  Without someone that can consistantly play at a high level there is no way LSU gets by FL, Auburn and UGA.  Like last year, I think they will also drop a game to a team like Bama or TN that they should win.   FL's secondary was horrible last year and they didnt make much of an improvement between September and January.  I have no reason to think they will make drastic improvements between January and September.

Florida will be fine as long as they don't match up with Michigan in a bowl game.

You don't have to worry about that.

Joe-

I like Auburn this year.  They should be a strong team with a very different offense and a pretty strong defense (again).  New O and D coordinators could cause a stumble, but overall they will probably be a top 15 team.  If they win their bowl game, they'd likely be at 10-3; I think that they'd be in the top 15--top 12, maybe.
