Does anyone know what's been happening with him, has he been practicing in training camp?  He sounds like as long as he recovers from his injury that he could be a number one receiver, that's only if though... I haven't heard really much about him since shortly after the draft, thanks...

I'd say be patient, the Bears have only had 3 practices for their rookies since the draft. Right now, players are finishing up their college finals (or if in the quarter system still have a month left to go) and will report to the first OTA at the end of this week, I think. Marcus Monk actually had a lot of exposure during the rookie minicamp, it's just that they really haven't done that much yet.

From what I read he was a little nervous at the beginning of rookie camp but picked up as the weekend went on.I don`t think he had any restrictions as far as his knee injury is concerned. I hope he turns into the M.Colston of the draft.

Yeah, no ill effects from his knee was reported and he was impressive as was Earl Bennett during the (3) day rookie mimi-camp albeit in shorts !!

I think this kid has a legit shot at playing on Sunday's for us, he has great size, great hands and has just a smidge below average speed for a WR at a 4.6 fourty but he has great instincts and uses his body well to gain position on balls which has been sort of a lost art amongst Bear wide outs in recent years....... Booker was the last WR I can remember that always used his body and long arms to make plays like Monk has shown the abilty to do, in college of course...  Ditto for Bennett.

It's seems the Bears off-season in house grading has directed us to bring in WR's that are skilled in the craft and not just speed guy's like Berrian was for us.

The key for Monk is just to stay healthy, if he can do that I see no real reason why he shouldn't be able to beat out the likes of Hass, Rideau and even Lloyd for a roster spot behind Booker, Bradley, R. davis and Bradley....  I'm not even tossing Hester in the category becasue his spot is already secured as a Return Specialist and the Bears should carry (6) WR's not including Hester so the odds are good that both our rookie WR's will be on the 53-man roster come September....
