We do draw big crowds for Big East school WVU and really that is the only Big East school that we play! Knocking off Boise St was a big step in the right direction for us. I think that it would be a great idea for us to join the BE! Our basketball program is not up to par but our football and baseball prgrams will be really competitve and provide good competition!

Fact of the matter is, and I have no dogs in the fight...the Big East will continue to be the butt of jokes regardless of how poor another conference may be in one season until their bowl tie ins get better. No one takes a conference seriously that ends their season pasting Conference USA or MAC teams. They got a nice bowl tie in with the Pac last year, but Oregon smoked USF. I don't care one way or the other, I don't dislike the Big East....but respect from fans normally is earned by playing top notch teams and beating them in December/January.

Thanks for the thread Gray.
ECU's proposal is actually more than just fixing the scheduling issues. Thats big, but your talking about adding another TV market (compared to Temple) and a football school with a football tradition, with facilities comparable or better than Big East schools.
ECU football is on par with UNC football, or NC State football and for the better part of 25 years always has been. ECU is an untapped market that if given the opportunity, can explode into the mainstream, just like USF did when they started a football program from scratch and were given the opportunity. Most ECU fans believe USF stole their rightful place in the college football world, because they were located in Florida. Unfortuneatly, four or five years ago, ECU didnt have all their ducks in a row, because of changes in the Chancellor, AD, and football coach. We are back on track and showing what we were, we do have a chip on our shoulder, but we have always had to when your dealing with UNC and NC State. We are what the Big East is in the college football, always having to prove ourselves, we have to deal with the idiots that you deal with every day too.
We are the perfect fit for the Big East, you dont want the pomp and circumstance that comes with ND, you want the blue collar worker that comes with ECU. We would be the perfect replacement for Va Tech, we are very similar in many ways.
And Big East fans would love the trip, take I-95 South, make a week of it and stay at the beach while your here, we have great tailgating, plenty of great scenery (comparable to SEC schools again) and love to have a good time. Thats what ECU is saying, just give us a try, because we know you'll like us once you get to know us, which is not what they say about people in South Bend.

South Bend is a good visit. Probably my favorite place to watch my team on the road. The people are decent, if you win, they buy you drinks b/c you won, if you lose they buy you drinks b/c they feel bad for you. Good, old time football fans. Only drawback is ugly women.

Yeah, but just in case you have a few too many, @ least make sure she's skinny, b/c even if something bad happens...you know she's rich and can probably spend @ least a few years waking up @ 2 pm, opening a beer, and watching Jerry Springer until she comes home from work. Then you let the kid outta the closet as you see her pull in the garage and convince her that "me and junior had a great day together" before retiring to bed in hopes of avoiding dinner conversation. Or any kind of conversation.
I don't anticipate Michigan putting ECU on the schedule anytime soon, so I reckon I'll just hafta take your word on the debauchery that can be had around campus on Saturdays.

I'm talking about scenery and shaggin, you sound like you need a change of latitude. Maybe Michigan should schedule a road game once in awhile.

Michigan isn't exactly the team you should be blowing up on for OOC games. The only issue is that my options are South Bend and places out west I don't have the desire or time to set foot in.

See thats the thing. I'm thinking Michigan plays better when they go South. West isnt going to help, West is just weird. You need to change your latitude and go South, find some women with less clothes on, thats always a good thing (unless they shop at Wal-Mart?).
To get back on point. thats what the Big East needs to do, add some south to their equation, and why not add some east while your at it.
