I think, sadly, it's quite true. We are the best farm system in baseball bc we simply let the young guys play until they begin to approach their prime before we ship them off somewhere a bit more... Relevant. I hate being a bucs fan, but being a fan is like being in love- you just cant help who you fall for.
Sometimes it's a self-centered, cheating, prostitute who sells your television for crack money after you propose marriage. Such is the case of being a Pirates fan. Now, being a, say, Yankee fan is like marrying a rich guy that youre not really in love w/ but you know you'll always be safe from tough times due to those deep pockets.
Now, I have a question for anybody who may or may not be reading this and may or may not be a bucs fan;
WHY IS THE BLOODY HELL ISNT MARK CUBAN OUR OWNER LIKE HE WANTED TO BE????
Sweet relief! The guy wouldve turned us into the NL's Yankees; just pour money into the team far beyond the rewards of what he'd make back for the sheer pleasure of laughing in the faces of the four baseball fatcat hogs that buy whatever the Hell they want whenever the HEll they want- NY Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers. Can you imagine if Pirates was one of those names on that list of hated "overdogs"? Anybody who still roots for them deserves as much. I feel like I do, dammit!
