Welcome to the auto racing board. I think your thread to show our military folks some appreciation is a great idea. (Message posted.) There was a race tonight, and the race fans have probably been fairly occupied this evening, but I'm hoping you'll get some responses after things wrap up a bit.
Hey, race fans! Please take a moment to thank our guys and gals who are serving our country everyday. I doesn't take long to do, and it might really mean something to someone who is away from home right now. Thanks.
I've posted in on a few boards, and I'm not sure exactly why, but I expect to get one of the best showings of support from race fans. I just want to assure anyone, that this is not about me, so don't rate my stuff if you feel it is, or pop on to the "Insult me" thread on the nfl board, just post a thanks to the troops
NFL-Solomon, I am glad to see a thread supporting our troops.. I posted the following there but wanted to post it here as well...
First and foremost I would like to extend my gratitude to all the brave service men and women that risk their lives everyday so we can sleep well unaware of the evils that look to disrupt our slumber.
Secondly I would like to give thanks to all the families that lay awake nights fearing that their Son, Daughter, husband, wife, brother, sister, ...ect Returns to them in the same condition as they left in order to defend our Country.. To you all I say THANK YOU
And lastly I would like to add a special Thanks to my nephew David Mattox, A 03 MNF-I 1AD Cdr.. Who is currently serving his third tour of duty in Iraq, having survived the first two I asked him prior to his leaving for his third if he feared his luck could run out. his response amazed me and I would like to share it with you so you could realize the level of commitment these young people have to us and this Country.
His response was... I could do nothing prouder than to die for my Country as so many fine soldiers have done before me, should this happen all I would ask of you and my entire family is to understand this, and not mourn my passing but to realize that my journey here is over and God used me in the matter he seen fit for both of us..
