Hey Everyone,
This is a thread for all fans of all the teams in the AFC West.
For many years, the AFC West was a dominant division....really up until last year, where everyone except for the Chargers pretty much stunk.
With some good drafting from all the teams in our division, hopefully our division becomes a power house. Love it or hate it, how good our teams are a direct reflection on how strong ALL the teams in the division are...it helpa us maintain a high level of play as we play 6 games in the division per year
So, heres the questions:
Where do we rate in terms of strength with all the other divisions?
How long in seasons before the AFC West is in the Top 3 divisions again?
Who would you guys rate as the top 2 divisions?
How do you see the AFC West pannining out this year?
My answers: I would put the AFC West as equal 4th strongest behind NFC East, AFC South, AFC North and equal with NFC North.
We are another 2-3 years off challenging to be the strongest division.
San Diego, Denver, Oakland, Kansas.

yea i agree that we are the 4th bet division but i dont think we will be up there soon. The Chiefs stink and they dont look any better for the future. the Raiders, sure they got a lot of FA pick ups but look what happened to us last year when we did that, plus there the raiders so as long as Al Davis is alive they will suck. The Chargers i can see in a few years tumbling down out of that number one spot. i feel that Phillip Rivers isnt going to pan out and Tomlinson is going to give up in a few years. but as for now and the next few years we arent that tough of a division. but i do agree that we were a tough division when the Broncos were actually a legitamate team and the chargers just starting to be good

Okay first off we should be ranked in the top 3 at least.
I would say we will be at least two seasons before the West shows dominance again. Hopefully its not with the Raiders leading the pack, but I'd give anything to shut San Diego up since they are only good enough to be runners up in the playoffs. This year well to be honest Raiders look to be the potential surprise, but hopefully their coaching will prove me wrong. San Diego will probably start to falter, in my mind they haven't done anything right since getting rid of Shottenhiemer Top two divisions? Man its easier to say who are the worst two divisions. I.E. AFC South, NFC West. My top two would have to be NFC East, AFC North. (AFC East, West ). My Predictions at the end of this year:

I agree with NFC west, outside of Seattle that division stinks like a wet dog! But AFC south? how can that division be bad when it sent 3 teams to the playoffs and all 4 teams in the division finished at least 8-8

Chiefs always seem to get on the edge of being good then collapse. If there is a God, the Raiders will always suck. Norv Turner could break a crowbar in a sandbox. It's up to us.

I have always thought that the AFC West was one of the toughest divisions, historically. But lets look at the facts. Only Denver has won a SB in last 25 years. SD one appearance, Oak one appearence. KC none. Since Denver won its last SB no AFC West team has done anything in the playoffs. When our best teams go up against NE or Indy we get killed except for a win by Denver over NE and SD win last year. The only conclusion is that the AFC West is over-rated at least for now.

Well lets see 1983-2008 seems to me that is 25 years. You are not counting the year they got their asses handed to them by TB are you? You probably are counting the tuck rule game as a win, because you would have won the SB that year right? Maybe you are trying to say it has ONLY been 24 seasons since your dogass franchise mattered in the NFL. Have fun during your 5 wins this year rooting for your bust of a QB.
