	Sure it does. Cubs need a LH power bat, and a big bat off the bench. Reasons it doesn't work: Alfonso Soriano in center, been there done that...doesn't work Thomas complained about not getting consistent ABs in Toronto...doubt he'd accept being a PH Even if the Cubs were to get a PH, wouldn't be a guy who also plays first...Lou loves versitility Doubt the Cubs are dissatisfied with Reed Johnson Billy Beane values OBP and Patience...doubt he wants Felix Pie He also values HR...doubt he trade away most of the little power he does have A's are in 1st...no reason to mess with the team this early in the season

	Lol, Frank Thomas had a baby when the Blue Jays benched him, do you honestly think he will be satisfied as a pinch hitter. I dont know were your heard this, but you most definitely heard wrong. Frank Thomas will never play in the NL if there was no DH he would be a greater at Wal-Mart.

	I don't see the logic in this trade. Lou wouldn't put Sori into CF. I could understand trading those 2 for a power hitting CF hitting from the left side. In your statement Murton and Pie have no place on the team: 1 is true. Murton is better than a AAA player and deserves a shot on a 25 man roster. Pie has shown improvement at the plate and still plays solid D. He is fine. Last on this: Getting a RH PH in Thomas is not worth this move. He wouldn't get enough at bats to be stable off the bench. He is a DH. Not suited for a NL team. Bad source/trade.

	Right...we already have a first baseman/pinch-hitting specialist in Daryle Ward. Second, just because Reed Johnson isn't hitting .350 anymore doesn't mean you bail on him....if you haven't noticed the Cubs haven't exactly been STELLAR over the last couple weeks...third, as everyone else mentioned, Frank Thomas would not settle for pinch-hit duties anyway, and I think Derrek Lee is a tad better than him at first (LOL). I haven't seen the rumor, but most I've seen on mlbtr.com and other reliable sources were at least somewhat logical. This makes no sense at all.

	I think your source has is head stuck "insider" his back side! That deal wouldn't fly in a million years. For one Frank Thomas is a DH. Secondly, Jack Cust is not a power hitter and is hitting a robust .253. Third, Jim Hendry is not going to trade Felix Pie in May, especially for two pieces that don't fit into the current puzzle. If that deal is for Joe Blanton, then fine, but it's not. That's a good deal for the A's, but not for the Cubs and that is one trade that I'm quite confident will never happen.
