Dodd,

I realize that you are a Mizzou guy and because of that maybe a Big 12 guy, but 5 Big 12 teams in the top?   I like the big 12 and that seems a bit much to me.  Hey, there are some good teams in the Big 12 but you can't think that this is how the teams will end up the season right?  Won't the great teams in the league cancel each other out?  I guess we'll see.

You can be sure some losses will occur among this group. But they won't be "bad" losses compared to teams in lesser conferences beating each other up. At year end, all 5 still ranked in top 20 is hardly impossible, especially since 12-team leagues don't play a complete round robin schedule. Does any team besides KU play all four of the others? The remainder of the BigXII includes five, maybe six, teams good enough to win games in this company as well, so a one-loss season by one or two of these five should result in a NC appearance. Even if all of them end up with two losses, BCS should pick the maximum of two for top bowl games.

You guess correctly -- we'll see.

I love everything you have said except the mizzou part if you dont think mizzou should be up there then none of those teams should be up there b/c missouri returns the most starts with 8 on a tremendous defense and 6 on a tremendous offense but the 5 we lost on offense are replaced with jermey maclin Jered perry Danario Alexander Chase coffman and a back up center who is looking great. but yea besides Mu OU and Texas i think it is pushing it b/c Kansas lost so much and they didnt exactly have the greatest class not to mention they actually have to play people this year. I would pt Kansas in the 10=15 range b/c of defense and I would defenitly have texas tech no where near the top! That is a joke what makes them good a offensive mastermind who cant get by last years mu defense haha!

b/c missouri returns the most starts with 8 on a tremendous defense and 6 on a tremendous offenseWhat?? 1st off KU returns 17 starters and only started 2 seniors last year so how is 14 more then 17? While MU is good returning 14 starters isn't that many for a top 5 team.

I think Dodd is OK with his putting 5 Big 12 teams in there, especially Texas Tech.  This is probably their best team ever, and I think if they don't have injury problems, they have a legitimate shot at the  Big 12 title.

I think we'll see 6 Big 12 teams in the final 25; but the 5 big twelve in this list?   Texas is over-rated, McGee is not a breakaway threat.    Kansas; yup, their loses those small were the huge difference makers and they'll play a much tougher schedule this year so the lake of depth will probably catch them year.     OU will be good but they don't have the big receiver to replace Malcom Kelly and a few key loses on the O-line will probably have Bradford's head more on a swivel (think Texas Tech game last year).   The loss of secondary will open up the passing game for more passing attacks so Tech and Missouri may be well matched, Texas has the passer but from the spring game didn't look to have any receivers.

Legit - all 5 teams will be competitive but can't see any challenging for the NC Game.

Obviously I'm a Texas fan and may be talking more with my heart than my head.  That being said, UT will win the Big 12 South.  We have owned OU the past few years except for last year and if Jamall Charles doesn't fumble going into score we win that game.  We have owned Texas Tech and we get Missou in Austin.  I think Kansas will be tough but they will come back down to earth this year and we wil end up smothering them.  Then it will probably be a rematch with Missou in the Big X!! Title game

Hook em!
