I'm hoping Therrien isn't a good playoff coach and is terrible in the X's and O's

You are probably the same guys that wanted him fired 20 games into the season. You can't fool all of us !!!!!!  Pittsburgh in 5 !!!

Stevens' problem is that he doesn't adapt to his opponent.  That style of play may have brought them from last place to a playoff berth, but the fact that Stevens continues to engage a faster, younger team in an up-and-down the ice game is a big tactical mistake.  The Flyers need to play dump and chase hockey and keep 2 guys back if they're going to beat the Pens.

I don't know that I credit Stevens with all the improvement on the Flyers this year, either.  I give the GM, not the coach, credit for that.  Bobby Clarke was a great player, but a horrible GM.  It's good that he was replaced.

Given the fact that both teams have very skilled and unique players Crosby, Malkin, Gonchar for the Penguins...Briere, Prospal, Timonen for the Flyers...it would be very difficult to screw up with their teams. Both suffered through injuries with Crosby going down for a long stretch and Gagne gone after 20 games. That said, I would give the edge to Stevens. He seemed to have a more pedestrian line-up this season yet still stayed very competitive with the Penguins (and other teams the Flyers probably should have been worse than.) They split the season series and finished a mere 7 points behind the Penguins. I just wish Stevens could get over his hard-on for his old Phantom's players.
