Well the Jim Edmonds era is over in San Diego. It last under two months. I bet letting Milton Bradley go and Mike Cameron go hurts now doesn't Kevin Towers...

Jim Edmonds batting was unbelievable! 16-90 was real impressive. What impressed me the most was the speed he had. He could chase those balls like they were nothing.

The Padres have made yet another mistake... The Padres bring in Jody Gerut instead of Chase Headley. Maybe the Padres should send down Paul McAnulty as well so we can have both Gerut and Headley.

Me personally belikemike42, im not mad at getting rid of Milton and his issues or Cameron with his suspension and drug use. I was upset that we did not replace them with someone of equal value. Edmonds was a hit or miss and i cant count him as the replacement. We looked for big bats before the year started (broken record) and paid high beer prices. But, i just knew Chase Headley was coming up and then this! Jody Gerut? Well, im going to sit back and see what happens.....Go Pads...Dont know what to say right now.....

As a resident in Seattle, I get to see more of Portland than most Pad fans.  Gerut has outplayed Headley thus far this season.  His avg is significantly  better and he's hit for more power.  Plus, Headley doesn't play center and Gerut will be better in center than Hariston.

I think they should bring up both of them, but in this situation, if you're gonna bring up one, Gerut is the better option right now. IMO

What I don't get is why they're bringing up Carlin at catcher.  Isn't Hundley suppose to be our big up and coming catcher?  Instead, we call up Carlin, a career .245 hitter??

Thanks fbscouts. I love Padre baseball, i just dont pay attention to alot of teams, especialy the ones not in the NL West. I needed that boost of confidence... Go Pads!!!

the call-ups are what im happy about i know alot about Henn who pitched for the O's he has potential but at times his fasteball is too straight also Jerut who is raking right now great call-up he should honestly be starting every-day now also one more thing Inman and Headley both got to be called up they just gotta everybody knows that Inman has great potential and can start or relief in the majors now and Headley can straight uo rake.

Your right ... the Jim Emonds era is over before it began. I did manage to get his autograph at the Friar Fan Fair but now .. it's not worth keeping  haha.. now bringing Gerut and Headley .. I dont dont think that will help this ball club. Even with Peavy pitching tonite they were still able to lose ... Murphy's Law has now been switched to Padres Law .. What ever could go wrong .. will go wrong ...  as in losing games by every which way possible,.. stupid errors , no hitting , and no bull pen either ... its time to have a fire sale and start from scratch. Greene ... I hate to see you go but you are ... who's next to leave ?? Young ,  Bell ,  ... its not right but we have to do something !!!
