johnboylaux, good insight. You're right w/ the knee comments, he does have really bad knees. Brett was the one who kept him on the team, really made a difference in his life. I think the Packs decision to cut ties w/ him are because Brett is gone now. He is a great guy, wish him the best. I think he does have hope though, someone will def pick him up as a #2 or 3 receiver.  Just think his departure has much to do w/ Brett.

You're right, the team can't flat out cut a player due to injury.  They have to reach an injury settlement with that player, generally a sum of money in exchange for agreeing to be released.  In the case of Koren Robinson, he's not technically injured, even though rumors have it that his knees are bad.  But that by itself wouldn't be enough to prevent the Packers from being able to releasing him.

I'm not sure there is an actual list, but bad knees probably wouldn't qualify as an injury that would keep the Packers from releasing him.

It's walking a fine line... but nothing will come of this unless Koren Robinson filed a grievance against the Packers.

I also have mixed feelings about having him gone..he had experience as a PR man..and was a big experienced WR..

I am fairly certain he'll end up somewhere..

Sad to see KRob go, but with Jennings, Driver, Jones and Nelson, it seemed inevitable, didn't it?

Maybe we'll se Koren and Brett reunite on another team.

I was listening to the radio yesterday on the way to work (Miller Light Football show was on) and the hosts were saying that there were wispers that Koren had fallen off the wagon.  If that's true, then I could definitely see it as a reason for releasing him.  Not that drafting Nelson didn't foreshadow it enough.  The people that thought TT drafting Nelson signalled the end of Driver in Green Bay instead of Robinson were crazy.
