Normally I stick to the Bears boards and that's it but the past couple days I have noticed more and more GB fans and Viking fans posting and even starting threads on the Bears board. Now I know it's a free country and all and you can basically do what you want but I stick with the Bears and the Bears only. Until today (just out of curiousity) I checked the GB board as well as the Minn board and I noticed one thing which was rather interesting...those same GB and MInn fans that come on the Bears board and talk all kinds of trash about the Bears are on each others boards but instead of talking sh!t - they are give props to each others teams. Whether it be commenting on a particular draft pick or trade but either way they are complimenting each other and wishing each other "luck next year". I mean don't get me wrong - there are some threads where there is some trash talking but I don't think I've seen one thread or post from another teams fans where they actually give the Bears credit on anything. Is there that much hate for the Bears and their fans out there?!?! Also how many of the Bears fan actually go on other team boards and post comments, bash that team, or even start threads? I mean hey - to each it''s own you can post whatever/where ever you want but I see a good deal of non Bears fan on the board commenting and creating post but only to talk sh!t. Me personally - I don't waste my time going to other teams boards to talk trash or to even see what they're talking about, but that might just be me. I'm sure those same fans I mentioned earlier will read this an have some type of smart comment but oh well - this thread was meant for Bears fans and their thoughts on the subject

Talk is talk. While nobody seems to be giving credit to the Bears in 2008 for what they did in the offseason. How they added depth, stabilized various positions, and became healthy. All we hear about is we lost Bernard Berrian, Brian Urlacher is overated, and we haven't drafted a qb in three years. I prefer it that way. Let them think and say what they want. I would rather be the "Dark Horse", the "Underdog", or perhaps the "Sleeping Giant" going into the season, because when the Bears come to town they won't know what hit them.
Go Bears

Amen to that Tuna...
I too feel that the Beras SHOULDN'T be considered a favorite but should be looked at as a dark horse type team. We had a bad year for numerous reasons that include but not limited to a serious rash of Injury, dismal O-line play, the tired old start multiple QB's in a season bit we grew so accustomed too for the last 20 years ect.....
I have a good feeling going into this season, the Defense should be back to full health and that is our bread and butter of this team. We will win based on our ability to field a health and top notch defense. Sure we have a lot of questions to answer but their are a few positives we gained from having such a poor season in 2007.
(1) we were forced to draft a true LT in this draft. We haven't done that since we chose Columbo back in Jerry's first official draft as Bears GM. If Williams can solidify the LT position then we have already imporved two fold as a team. With Williams anchoring the LT spot, RT will also be upgraded jus tby having John Tait move back to his natural position, he is hands down better then Fred Miller and this simple move will have a huge effect on our overall Offensive performance.....
(2) we were froced to draft Matt Forte due to our running woes and Ced being a complete bust. This kid will be a star for us, he has all the tools needed to be a successful RB in this league plus he has great character and an unbelievable work ethic. Now the job for the Bears is to get that O-line up to NFL standards again so the kid won't have to carry the entire burden ala, the late Great Walter Payton had to do for most of hise distinguished career........
(3) Hester showed us some signs as a legit WR as well as improving on his record setting Rerurn duties. The sky is the limit with this kid, get him in space and deliver the ball on time and he can take it to the house any time.
(4) Trumaine McBride showed us so much potetential that he all but relegated Ricky Manning jr. expendable......
(5) The injury woes at DT allowed us to get a good look at Anthony Adams and he played well for us until he was injured, after that we stole a diamond in the rough from Cincinnati by plucking Matt Toeinia from their practice squad. In the games he played in he played surprisingly well for a rookie and made a handful of impact plays, he is a high motor guy with great lower body strength and he fits perfectly in our style of defense.....
(6) The injury history of Mike Brown and the total failure of Adama Archuletta forced the Bears to draft another Safety and Stelz was a great selection for the Bears. He does not possess top speed but he plays smart, has great insrincts and is an solid tackler (something we lacked at that position last season) and has above average ball skills for a safety... His a Mike Brown typr, only bigger !!! Stelz will be a feature in our secondary for years to come.......
(7) The departure of Berrian will allow Bradley to get a legit shot, he was in the dog house last season and Lovie even admitted that he may have made a mistake by keeping Bradley down so far on the depth chart after he returned to full health in 2007. I have always like this kid, sure he has had some injuries but he also proved as a rookie that he posses top end speed and play making ability as a deep threat WR and the honus is on him to take the bull by the horns and win the starting job. If he can do that we will have a preety good (3) WR combo in Bradley, Booker and Hester plus we will see alot of Earl Bennett and his sure hands and the slippery smooth Rasheed Davis in situational duties is an added assett to our Offense. Combine that with an upgraded O-line and our trio of TE's in Clark, Olson and the newly drafted specimen and we have a unproven but potentially explosiev group of players that can be diesuptive to secondaries around the league. Just need to get the QB situation solidified in camp, that's easier sais then done but at least our two main QB's have shown the abilty to win games and aren't raw prospects............
(8) Brian Greise was traded, he was not our long term answer and he only took reps away from Orton. Now that he is out of the way Rex and Kyle will beable to go to camp knowing that the guy whos plays the best, winns the job and the loser drops to #2 which for the Bears, is ussually a sign that the loser of the QB derby will see the field at somepoint. Hopefully not but it will all depend on how our retooled O-line works out.....

Thats Right Tunafat. The Bears will always be ganged up on in our division because throughout history every team has always hated the Bears because of their mean demeanor and brutal play. ( not so much in the more recent years) But in all time, the Bears take the cake. Outside of the division as well the Bears will never get the same respect as some of the other teams in the league. All of the old football analysts (so called experts) used to play againts them and usually got beat up.
Dat dude; I think its funny when these guys come to our thread to talk smack because they rarely have any validity to their points. A healthy Bears team is better than any other team in the division ( yes even the Vikings ) who have a very good O line and thats about it. Their Defense is not on our tier. Greenbay, Detroit are you kidding me?
The Bears will go at least 5-1 in the division this year. Count on it!
As to other NFC North posters; come with it if you have anything to back up your comments. If not than keep your asses in your own boards.

Slow down Boomers, i wouldnt go ahead and pronounce 5-1 in the division, although it is certainly more than possible.
Everyone makes great points here. This is a free country and people are allowed to go on other sports boards and post whatever truth or nonsense they please.
As for the reason i think opposing fans are counting the Bears out for next year, i honestly believe that they dont know Chicago's situation in full. All they see and talk about is how Rex under-performs, how Brian Urlacher's back is the reason he wont be good, how bad Benson and others are, how overrated an injured defense is. I dont think they all see the core problems in full, more like they just brush over it and skim and assume, which i hate. I try to be as honest and non-biased as i can on these boards, because it is annoying when 15 year olds post heinous ideas, maybe thats just me.
Let the fans talk. Let them speak their weak sauce, let them assume that Rex has no leadership skills and cant throw, let them assume that Bernard Berrian will make an underachieved, so-far-wasted pick QB better, let them assume that because we had an off year, that we will keep going in a downward spiral. Let them assume, and welcome it. Just know that we as fans know more about the Bears, and know that when the assumed "better by addition" Vikes or Pack come to town we arent just a doormat. I think that's something everyone should relish, i know i do.

Talk is talk. And, quite frankly, most are fans of their teams but not necessarily knowledgeable about the game. Packers fans who ignore, or refuse to admit that their QB position is an unknown demonstrate an ignorance and/or lack of appreciation for the stability their team has enjoyed at that position.
Vikings fans who believe that Adrian Peterson, Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice, and arguably the best O-line in the game can cover for the defenciencies of Tarvaris Jackson are choosing to ignore that they might have finely restored Corvette with a blown motor.
In most cases, I try to ignore and not involve myself in the trash talk. No points are scored or tackles made on these boards. The QB questions for the Packers and Vikings may work themselves out and they may just be what their fans think they are( am I channeling Dennis Green?). But, the coolest thing is that it is all settled between Sept. and Jan. when the players and not the posters show what they are made of.

Everything that has been said has been said. Talk is cheap. I don't even go to other team's boards to trash talk or anything like that.
