Before the season I had a feeling Cabrera was going to turn it around. I mentioned it often. And Bam! 3-1 3.54 ERA I even wanted him as our opening day starter.

Well good work Cabrera. I knew ya had it in you. It just took time to develop and mature. At least I hope you have turned the corner.

Well, he started late ever picking up the game and learning the sport started for him at age 15.  This means that he has been playing baseball a bit longer than a decade.  He is tall and lanky, which are the reasons that Randy Johnson took so long to develop.  He has gone threw old school coaches year after year that do not relate to the new age players.  Rick Kranitz comes along that is known throughout circle to relate to the young guys with ease.  He built a trust relationship with Daniel Cabrera.  Daniel finally trusted a coach to listen about "how to pitch".  He is working with his game, not trying to change his game.  Daniel is finally at a point where he trusts his stuff and is relaxed on the mound.

This translates into a fluid movement and better command.  You can see he no longer gets frustrated on the mound.  He always had CY Young stuff, but needed to listen and control himself out there.  It took a new voice as Leo was not reaching to him.  Rick is reaching to alot of the young pitchers.

I read in the Post today that Cabrera is incorporating his sinking fastball into his pitches.  It seemed to work last night, 17 groundouts!
Cabrera has been on a tear lately, but last night's performance was against KC, so I'm not ready to jump the gun yet.  Finally, his era is under 4 and he has a respectable 3-1 record.  The O's are staying afloat right now and that's all we can really ask for.  Hopefully the pitching will hold on long enough so that we don't have to bring up Liz, Erbe or Penn before they're ready.  All those pitchers show promise, but they need a little more time in the minors.

This is the Cabrera I've been hoping and waiting for.  If he's truly turned that corner, then all Orioles fans will be equally happy.  It's happening a little sooner than I really expected this season, but I'll not complain.  Let's see how he does versus the BoSox.

There's a poll on The Sun  that asks which Orioles pitcher will have the most wins this season.  Daniel got my vote.

and has anyone noticed that we been doing this good without Traschel?
