The fact that Joba celebrates by pumping his fist and yelling, does not make him immature or any less of a professional then a starter that walks right off the mound after a big out. He's a young kid with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. What's wrong with that? This has been going on in baseball for a long time now, and it's no big deal. As long as he's not doing it to show up the hitter, it's perfectly fine. The only reason peolple complain about it is because he's in New York. There are a lot of other pitchers in the league that do the same kind of things. Look at K-Rod in LA. If Joba played for the Royals, would anyone care about his celebrations??? The answer is NO.

There have been a lot of other pitchers that have done a lot worse on the mound. Let the kid have fun. It's good to see a little fire.

however today joba struck out dellucci  and then proceeded to make a crazy fist pump and a spin around move and scream at the top of his lungs!  seriously now what the hell is this,

Whatch hi lites of K Rod and Papplebon who have been doing that for years  ...

BTW  last week  CC Sabthia   struck out Arod in the 7th INNING   , then went on to act like someone said something disgusting  about his mother  ...  screaming and all that  ...  so  pretty much everyone does it .. but then again it is only a subject if a Yankee does it

I Have to say in Joba's defense as a pitcher when you get to face down someone who humilated you at the plate it feels good to take them down a peg especially since most people assume the outcome will be the same as before. Joba is a Young pitcher trying to make a name for himself and any act of redemption is worth celebrating, however having said that there's a fine line between showboating and celebrating and i think Joba should tone it down just a little. I think if there's any cause for outrage it shouldn't be over this. it should be in the yankee's pitching staff's inability to develop our younger talent.

SInce I doubt you are Yankee fans  I was a Yankee fan before you were a gleam in your dads eyes sonny. I still don't like excessive celebrations intended to kick dirt on the other team. I don't believe Joba did  his fist pump to do that however. I think he was just excited.

Let me play the devil's advocate here. I am all for all types of celebration in sports because I think it is fun. The reason this has gotten so much attention is because many vocal yankee fans have complained for years about K-Rods fistpump and Manny flipping the bat. The cumulative yankee fan has talked about how that is bad sportsmanship and how the yankee way is to act like a professional. Now that the Yankees have a player who is overly animated and celebrates at any opportunity, instead of yankee fans being consistent and bashing it you hear how refreshing it is to finally see someone who gets pumped to play and is excitable. It is very very hypocritical of yankee fans.

I don't care for it.  Nor do I care for Manny's watching the homeruns either.  When the next player steps up to the plate and hits a homer off of him, and then starts a slow celebration around the basepaths let's hope Joba doesn't think it is a big deal.  I wouldn't have an issue if he would be doing this to Manny, becaise then it would be a reaction to Manny's stupidity, but when you do it to players that have done nothing to show you up, well that is low class.
