i didnt realize that Steve Slaton went only in the mid-3rd round, was this his projection? and if so why didnt the Patriots take a chance on this guy, someone to run w/ maroney out of the backfield. i kno that the pats are amazing with drafting but could this guy have been a good contributer. i think so. maybe i'm giving him too much credit (steve slaton) but he was good w/ WV. he could punt and kick return as well right? so he would have been one of those versitile player

MAYBE...i dont kno what other thoughts are, u think he will produce?

He had a great career at WV but he is a little undersized which probably explains his fall in the draft.  I saw projections for him going anywhere from the 2nd to the 4th round.  He has a chance to be a Kevin Faulk type player which isn't all that bad.  Fortunately for the Pats they already have Faulk and although he is 31 years old he isn't beat up like most backs his age.

I think he'll be a great fit for the Texans, and they'll attempt to use him a lot like the Pats use Faulk. He's going to give us a dimension that we've never really had on offense. I'm not sure he'll wind up returning kicks/punts because Jacoby and Andre Davis did it just fine last year, but I'm really looking forward to seeing him on screen passes. With our athletic O-line moving up the field and blocking, he'll have a chance for some home-run plays like he did at WVU.

Maybe he had a bad workout with NE or they just weren't impressed by his film.
