Take him out in the back barn and put him down. Send Wassermann to the minors, because our bullpen is doing well and call up Jerry Owens and give Ramriez a shot at second if he doesn't work out Call up Josh Fields and let him play there. Bottom line DO SOMETHING! Yes we won today, but once again this line-up sucks. Thome and Konerko need to be seperated in the line-up. Instead of a 1-2 punch its 1-2 outs.
Scott Merkin suggested that if they can reach a long term deal with Joe Crede, Josh Fields may be switched to 2B, it'd be nice to get about 60-65 homers out of 3rd&2nd.
As much as I bash Uribe, I must admit he looked good today. Now because of his hr but because of his slide into second to break up the double play. Where has that been his whole career or from any of our hitters this season?
If Josh Fields is playing second base ever for the White Sox...we are in serious trouble. 1b maybe, 3b i suppose, DH ok...2nd base? no chance. sea fan has been playing too much MVP baseball on his playstation if he thinks this is a possibility.
Fields at 2nd that is ridiculous, he doesnt have the lateral quickness for 3rd how is he going to do it at 2nd? If anything it would be first, Thome is probably gone after this year. I dont see Crede getting the long term deal unless he negotiates it himself. He will probably end up in San Fransisco.
Uribe is probably entering one of his 2 usual stretches where he catches fire to get his numbers up. It was great to see him slide hard into second. Thats the way they all should be playing.
I just want to add stolen bases are just sexy? See what happens when a little speed got on base and stole. If they had more of that they might win some of these games they are losing 2-0 or 2-1 it makes a big difference.
I give Uribe some major respect with that take out slide in the 8th. That ruined a twin killing (no pun intended) and led to a run. I didn't think that Juan had it in him in making such a play.
I agree with you 1000000% Snow.. When Juan broke up that double play, what a turning point. That led to 3 runs and sealed the deal.. It's the little stuff that wins games and that certainly helped. And his 3-run blast was also pretty good ;-)
I also have to agree with ya'll also. I never see Josh Fields as a 2-Bagger... And again, when's is Jerry going to be recalled??? Come on Kenny, shyt or get off the pot!
Uribe is one of those players that is a good representation of the Sox Team - he plays inconsistently, gets the job done ugly at times, acrobatic at others, and is an overall hard nosed - never-say-die type player. I both love him and hate him. I think it would be worth keeping him around for the remainder of the year. If his numbers continue to tank then give Ramirez or Fields a shot, Juan is one of those guys that can come in handy during the post-season (if we make it) - let's not forget about that play he made in 05, 2nd to last out...how many other guys on the Sox team could have done that.

Oh yea, that's who I want to represent this team: a fat ass 2nd baseman who steps into the batters box every time thinking he's practicing his golf swing.
He's hot now, so ride the wave while you can, but it won't last long. His avg has gone down every year, and his AB's and baserunning some time drive you wacky (although the take out slide was sweet). I have never faulted his effort, or his D, but the bottom line is that I would like to see some young talent developed, especially if we are going to be a .500 team. Like I said before, I think he should play 2nd, for now, but not just everyday. Ramirez and Pablo need some time, unless of couse Ramirez goes down.
Finally, and I know it doesn't matter anymore, but for the life of me, I can't understand why they just gave Iguchi away for nothing. He is a solid player, a great clutch hitter, and is no more expensive than Juan. I guess he was just helping out the Phillies GM at the time since Utley was hurt. The whole thing made no sense and pissed me off.
