The simple fact is that the Pats offensive line got out muscled and out played by the Giants defensive line. Brady is a great QB, but even he looks bad when under constant pressure. That's how the Pats lost the SB.

nashos- i agree on that point of the defensive line and it nice to have a rational fan.but again in the past adjustments were made in superbowls but not this year, why?. your coaches choices have brought this into question? he simply should have stopped when warned then chowds fans wouldn't have to deal with this scrutiny.

That is one reason but not the only reason. Believe it or not, the Pats where outplayed in areas of the game during the season and where still good enough to win.
As bad as the O line was that game, Pats still would have won if that guy (forget who it was) didn't put superglue on his helmet, also on same play, if the one of the two face masks where called which kept Manning from getting drilled, OR if overrated and now overpayed Eagle A. Samual could catch a ball, ect....

Of course they should be punished. Their entire 16-0 season is one big asterix. I am just thankful they didnt win the super bowl on the back of what looks to be the most corrupt season in NFL history. I think bellichek should be give a years suspension and Draft picks stripped. Send a message for god sakes. players get way worse for bad behaviour off the field, shouldn't cheating on the field be punished even further.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I hope someone mentioned the most important detail that came out of the Walsh meetings. He, Matt Walsh, was the only person with access to the video during the game. If Walsh, who has nothing to do with coaching decisions, is the only person to have the video, how is that cheating someone out of a game? Does it do any good to know what the offensive/defensive signals being called are after the game?

Every part of what they did was illegal, against the rules, and by definition cheating.
Read the statement by Goodall, the taping of coaches signals is what the Patriots were punished for, and not where they stood. And of course the tapes were for in game adjustments. There is no other reason to tape people you will not play for years since a game tape is provided to every team. There is no reason to tape coaches signals if you do not intend to exploit them. Children with learning disorders can figure this out.
No the Jets were not caught taping or this would be Jetgate.
You can come up with all the lame excuses you want, but the Patriots cheated, and are not true champions.
From your insight it is quite clear you should stick to the 12 man 110 meter game, and leave the real football to folks with more than a keyboard and something stupid to say.
