The only reason it got close was the Steelers were smart enough to switch up their signals to confuse the Patriots. Any smart coach including Cryer could use the knowledge that the Pats were taping to his benefit. It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure that out.

You have to love fans like TREZEDAILY saying the Patriots cheated. Does anyone in the United States who isn't a Stealers fan think Seattle was not robbed in that Super Bowl? Get real! The Seahawks had 2 touchdowns taken from them and the Stealers got credit for 1 where the replays all showed the ball never reached the goal line. That's a 21 point gift. So which team are the cheaters?

Well the Seahawks are my 2nd team, but I admitt ben didn't score that touchdown and there were some terrible calls (kinda like us against the Colts). But, I don't think bad refs meant the Steelers cheated, thats just pats fans trying to place blame elsewhere

If the defense knows you are running a pass play, does it make it easier for them to intercept the ball? Furthermore, if the defense knows who you are going to pass to, is it easier to make an interception? Who many interceptions did Kordell throw in the 2002 AFC championship game? Unless you know zero about football, I don't think you'll have any trouble answering these questions.

And the accusation with Pete Rose was that he bet on his own team and threw games for money. Thats a little different than a videotape.
Not sure how the thread ended up talking about Pete Rose, but he was NOT ever accused of throwing games for money - even the investigators concluded that all bets on his own team were for the Reds to win. Rose broke a major rule, but it is hard to conclude that he lost on purpose; at worst he would have harmed the team in his zeal to win.
As far as the Steelers-Pats, cheating is cheating, whether or not it is successful. As a Bengals fan, I expect I was probably rooting against the Steelers in this game, so I can't be accused of being biased for Pittsburgh. However, I don't think any team should be allowed to get away with recurrent rule-breaking. I know that if it were my team I would be annoyed, regardless of whether the outcome could conclusively be determined to have been affected.
The tapes will be reviewed, and unless there is more to the story, there will be no further punishment. However, the Pats image will remain tarnished, and a lost draft pick and fines may not have been sufficient sanctions to make all of the other teams and their fans feel justice has been done.

LOL...Your comment is not only funny,but outright stupid..Did you even watch that game?...The PATS ran a punt back for a touchdown,Brady didn't even finish the game and as usual the Steelers turned the ball over twice..They went into that game overconfident and paid for it...In the years that followed including yet another playoff game vs the Steelers the PATS beat them again and again..
This whole thing is just something for the media to keep talking about..The Commish of the NFL saidn himself after investigating the PATS that he was convinced that any tapes they had were not being used for game use...And in fact if you know the rules of the NFL it is NOT illegal to tape other coaches during the game..You just cannot do it from the sidelines which is all that was done..And there is NO way any of those tapes can be used for the game being played..
Other coaches including Bill Cowher,Jimmy Johnson,Bill Parcells and others have all admitted to doing the same thing and that is goes on now and has been for years..It will continue to go on for a long time after all this is over as well..To quote Jimmy Johnson who in fact admitted on FOX that he had done while coaching the Cowboys(who won 2 SuperBowls while he was their Coach).."This is much to do about nothing..Bill Parcells admitted that it has always ben done and he said "shame on himif someone was able to steal his defensive signals as most coaches change them every quarter,NEVER use the same ones in the next game against the same team,and never have the same person calliing them in..This is of course because they are doing the same thing themselves so they know what another team is watching for..
Miami admitted to buying a tape of Brady's audibles before a game in Miami which they shut the PATS out..It nay not sem fair but it is NOT illegal..It is like stealing the catcher's signs in basball.If you let it happen you are the moron..
People hate the PATS because they are the BEST team in the NFL over the past decade..Three Superbowl Titles and to add an undefeated regular season while being watched by the NFL..You have to be a true moron to think that was all done with a video camera..if that were the case they should have won the SuperBowl this year but were outplayed and that was that...
