Mr. Ken Rosenthal is reporting that along with Griffey and Dunn being on the trading block, Bako, Hatterberg, Weathers, Affeldt, and Merker are all also up for grabs.
A few notables missing from that list are Patterson and Fogg, but i dont think anybody would trade for them. I for one dont want to see Bako go, but the rest i wouldnt mind seeing gone as long as they brought something decent back in return.

jeb -- I'm with ya. Right now, Bako is the #1 of the three (!!) catchers on this team. It would make no sense to trade him away unless they can count on getting a catcher back as good as or better than Bako, or they can get one in another trade.
I also would be hesitant to let Affeldt go. He's pitching well enough to continue to help the team. Weathers may marginally be worth keeping, unless you could get fair return for trading him. Not great return, but fair.
As for the rest of those you mentioned, I'm with you. They can all go!

I agree with you on Affeldt, but i'm willing to let him go knowing what we have down in the minors. We have Bray down there(again), we also have Josh Roenicke who looked amazing in spring training and is tearing it up in AA, and we also have Danny Herrera, the second part of the Hamilton-Volquez trade, who so far in AAA hasnt given up an earned run yet. But Bako has to stay unless were getting a major league ready catcher right from the get go.

I agree with Bako being on the trading block for the simple reason that his stock is higher then it will probably ever be. Bako has never hit this good in his career and to think he is going to continue hitting like this would be a little unrealistic. His numbers have gradually fallen the last few weeks and we are trying to get something of value in return for him. We still have Ross and Valintein and who knows, maybe Walt is trying to trade Griffey back to Seattle for Clement.
Merker is in the same category with Bako, he is old and is doing pretty good but I think we need to call Bray up and see where he is at.
Affeldt is doing really good and we should get a top prospect for him from a contending team and if no one offers something with a lot of potential that trade will probably not happen.
I think everyone in baseball knows Griffey and Dunn were already on the trading block even though they weren't officially anounced to be.

I really don't see why Bako is on the trading block unless they are looking for a great starting catcher. I don't see how anyone would want to trade for Griffery with the money we owe him still. I want to see Dunn stay but if there is something decent out there we need to take it for the future of this team.

Gotta go with the Hoosiers-man on this one... Bako is great- right now. I like him, but if we can get greater value in return, it makes sense (especially if you force the other team to take another someone else off your hands- "Patterson"- as well)

Folks, there is only one way you trade a catcher:
You are brain-challenged.
You deal a catcher only to get equal value in return (talent wise) which may cost you even more with the PTBN that you give up.
No team is going to trade you their catcher in exchange for your sorry-armed outfielder.
Just ... that doesn't ever happen.
This trading block stuff will get fairly old for us all by the end of June.
Same stories, different year, same results.
Anybody who can start a rumor will start one. I know there is rumors that I will be traded to the Chessa Peaks International Strip and Diving Team, but my agent is denying it.

I hate off days. All the babes want to sit around and pose for our avatars.
Like, they think that's all we have to do on our day off from discussing baseball strategy is manage THEIR special needs.
How'd you get that group to pose, jebus?
