Well, the answer is simple: the Twins are a bunch of over-achievers stuck in the "middle of nowhere" (at least according to the East Coast media). It's so much fun to pull for this team: we're always being counted against, yet somehow we're almost always there at the end of the year. Sure we've had our rough patches (90's anyone...after probably 92-93, that is) but it could be worse, we could be like the Royals or the dismal Tigers of the 90's-early 2000's. Fortunately since our team is built on good scouting, as long as the Twins keep that tradition up, they will remain contenders or at least competitive. So, I love this team because they're often overlooked and disrespected, and we have a pretty loyal fan-base so there really aren't many bandwagon jumpers, and since that's the case we know we have a lot of true fans. Oh yeah, and I love our crappy dome (but I am thankful we shall soon be moving out), it just kind of adds to the Twins environment and it gives us a huge advantage. I have to admit, I'm going to shed a half a tear when they leave...but I'll be SOOO pumped to see the Twins in their new stadium!
