"Kobe only won the MVP because the NBA felt they owed him one. Chris Paul is the true MVP, for his team really needs him to win. He is more valuable to his team as a player and leader than Kobe. Dont get me wrong, Kobe is a great player but C.P. is more valuable to his teams fortunes."
Really? Replace Kobe with an average point guard and the Lakers are a lottery team. Replace Paul with an average point guard and New Orleans still has a shot at the playoffs. Paul is a great player, but if Kobe had surgery on his finger, the Lakers would probably be done right now.
Like Paul, Kobe is his team's best scorer and passer, but he's also their best and most versatile defender. Paul is a very good defensive point guard, but he's limited to guarding the other team's point guard. Kobe gives the Lakers flexibility defensively that Paul can't give.
To me, good pick! But I'm biased!
