My bad it wasn't just the players that won it in '02; it was that cheap shot on Willis McGahee that really sealed the deal. If you watch that clip again it was the OSU defenders mindset to take out McGahee because he was rolling in the 4th Qtr. and if he didn't get hurt; I think Tressel would be more like 0-3 in NT games, and not 1-2.

So you can go and brag about Brewer being the reason that Cooper fired and how you got Tressel out of it.

Irish,

  1. Cooper was fired because he was losing control of his team in terms of academics and off-field problems, his difficulty winning bowl games and above all else, his lack of success against Michigan.  S Carolina and Brewer were just the last straw.
  2. There is no way to deny that Tressel is an upgrade in all areas mentioned above.
  3. No Buckeyes are proud of owning an 0-2 record vs a mediocre program like S Carolina.  It is flat out embarrasing to me.  Losing to S Carolina is like losing to Northwestern.

My bad it wasn't just the players that won it in '02; it was that cheap shot on Willis McGahee that really sealed the deal. You are full of crap.  That was a clean play.  You had a 190 lb nickelback coming up to hit a 230 LB tailback in the flat.  The DB hit him low just like you are supposed to do.  Only a fool would hit a much larger guy high if he doesn't have to.  It's not the DB's fault that McGahee's foot was planted at the time.  Nor would the DB be able to purposely time his hit to catch McGahee with his foot planted.  No doubt it was an unfortunate break for McGahee and Miami, but there is no way the OSU DB could have done it on purpose.  One would thing that a team that was touted as being "the best team of all time" would have had a couple of good backup RBs.  You can't blame OSU for that either.

You really don't think that was a cheap shot? Look at that clip again and see how the player reacts when he gets up. He is celebrating with his teammate and doesn't even care what just happened to McGahee. Now look at the clip of when LT ended Joe Theisman's career. He didn't get up and celebrate with his teammates; he got up and was begging for the trainers to come onto the field because he didn't mean to do it. Also even if they did have a couple of good backups; which they did; you cant expect them to come late into the game and continue where McGahee left off. That is just insane for any coach to do. And if you read my post again I said that Ryan Brewer was the deciding factor with Cooper getting fired; I never said he was the "only" reason; well I did; then I corrected myself. Trust me I know a lot about OSU even though I despise them; I grew up watching them every Saturday. I just liked the Brewer story because he was out on a mission and he accomplished getting back at OSU for not taking him; You have got to give credit where credit is due.

OSU is 7-2-2 against the SEC in non-bowl games, somehow SEC fans never remember that stat...they just remember the 0-9 in bowl games...

The Big Ten is 95-89-7 against the SEC

The Big Ten has 3 of the top 6 all time winningest programs...0 in the top 6 for the SEC

How the SECers think  they are gods gift to conferences is beyond me.  I am not even saying the Big Ten is better...I am just making a point that many SECers don't know the facts when they claim grand supremacy...nothing will stop that but a Big Ten team winning over an SEC team in the National Championship...so I hope OSU plays Georgia, or Florida this year...

And by the way, Carolina is North Carolina, not South Carolina...the fighting chickens have never won anything worthy of being THE Carolina.

Isn't it funny how these ND fans run their mouths after the season they had? I think that tOSU has beat them like the last 3 times they met. If tOSU had a season like that I would be laying low and not trashing other teams. As for the hit this clown keeps talking about its football hits are made; people get hurt.

you note that SC beat OSU back in 2001and02. great. how old were these kids then 10? 12? you can't go back that far and say a team dominated another team and that's rellevent to now.

OSU struggles with the SEC mostly because the get
