how do you figure frank kicked tito's butt, when tito was ahead on judges card until he gassed out. and was forced to tap out to strikes. it wasn't like he was koed it was just that he was gassed out. and no longer can continue. that fight was what created tito into being a cardio machine.

as for machida this should be a very interesting fight. and some people actual thought that BJ Penn won that fight. I for one did especially since that fight was pretty much all stand and Bj had that jab in machida's face a ton. I don't really recall them going much to the ground during that fight.

I belive if Tito grabs machida and takes him down Machida is in for a long night with Tito's vicious Ground and pound not your ordinary ground and pound those elbows he throws are some of the most violent ones out their. And I do not recall seeing TiTO being submitted by a JUJitsu guy as it is kind of hard when your face is getting re-arranged with Elbows. But that is Tito's only chance to over power him and ground and pound.

If Machida keeps it standing his stand up is far more Superior to Tito's and he could get a decision on strikes if he keeps it standing. Machida is one of the most intelligent fighters I have seen. He takes his time and Knows what he is going to do in order to pick you apart little by little.

This should be a very good fight. I don't belive Machida is a boring fighter he is Just a technician in their.

just in case your wondering a guy tapping out cause he cant take the punishment one is distributing to him is getting your butt kicked in my book.  And it wasnt like tito totally dominated frank on the ground either.  it was a back and fourth chess match for a while until tito gassed out than woulda been knocked if he had not tapped.

jrthrash,

I've been watching them since UFC 1, so I know that they have faced off before. And Frank kicked Tito's butt. At the time, nobody could beat Frank, which is why, for a little while Frank was the best. In that time frame, I think Frank Shamerock was good enough to make him one of the best all time fighters (even though he has always been super annoying).

HOWEVER, that was then, this is now. Frank has been nothing but talk for years and I think he makes contract negotiations nearly impossible no matter who is fighting for or who he is fighting against. Tito is bad about it, but Frank is worse. Both of these guys have huge heads and would want a rematch to be the biggest thing ever (rightfully so if you took both guys in their prime). It would be a great CBS follow up to an iffy first card.

While I have never liked Ken Shamerock, there was no denying Frank's skills back in the day. But he wasted his talent by "retiring" as champ, and now he is an older guy looking in at a practically new sport. His fights in the last few years have been disgraceful. His loss to a 40 year old Gracie (not Royce) due to illegal punches, and quitting after the 3rd against Cung Li after doing nothing but showboating were rediculious. That last fight looked like it came out of a Rocky movie. Terrible! This MMA, not a movie. But Li was willing to fight that way, and he let Frank get out of several sticky situations just because Frank acted like it was all a joke. If he tried to do that to Tito Ortiz, Ortiz would not slow down at all. Tito's head is on straighter right now than it has been for a long time, while Frank's head is on backwards. I'm also not a huge Tito fan, but he is much more of an active fighter than Frank at this point and I could easily see Frank saying no to the fight and blaming it on contract crap...................................................... Either way, I think Ortiz would win this time.

Dana White and Tito have been pretty clear about never wanting to work together again so unless they are lying, he won't fight in the UFC again regardless of this fight. Dana was Tito's manager for a while and it ended bad (think Couture times 20). White even made a  tv special for Spike punking Tito out for not showing up to a boxing match between the two. Tito was a no show. I don't think Tito will retire right now though. There is still plenty of gas in his tank and he is still one of the biggest draws in MMA.

I agree WIll....

No way Tito fights in the UFC after this...

But he's not done...

There are some free agent guys out there to fight, and other orgs would love to use him on their card. Tito would probably get paid more from an Affliction, Dream, Elite XC etc....

Keep in mind too, tito is a Huge LHW......I could see him fight anyone from a Lindland to a Kimbo or Fedor at HW....who knows...

Good luck Tito....

jtthrash81 how long hav e you been watching MMA?  This isn't wrestling.  Tito isn't getting in the ring with anyone to "validate" them.  He gets in the ring with people to beat them up and hopefully step up to get another title shot.  What an absurd thing to say that he gets in there to validate people.  As for the fight with Rashad i feel Tito was robbed and i hate Tito as a fighter.  I am a big Rashad Evans fan but i do think he should have a loss to Tito on his record and i also think if Chuck didn't get injured he would have beaten Rashad pretty bad.  As for how you think Tito will fight in the UFC again i highly doubt it.  His contract is up after this fight and there is a lot of bad blood between him and Dana White.
