Did Kobe Bryant deserve the MVP or did KG and Lebron get snubbed?

Did Kobe deserve it Yes, but so did Paul as did KG. But Paul announced his presence. Kobe won for his career accomplishments. The MVP is a seasonal award not a lifetime achievement award. But I can't say that he didn't deserve it because he did.

Nicely said! There were four excellent and deserving players. None of them would have been a bad choice. Kobe's career speaks for itself, but he won the award for his play THIS season!

Ummm, your poll is impossible to answer.  Am I voting "Did Kobe Bryant deserve the MVP?" OR am I voting "Did KG and LeBron get snubbed?"  What am I saying yes or no to?

What I like is that the people who dislike Kobe will, claim that he didn't deserve it in the past because he didn't make his team better, was selfish, that having the best numbers in the NBA didn't make you the MVP.  But now that he has made his team better and let his numbers slip to do so, he doesn't deserve it, because there are players that have better numbers.  I agree with you Steve is may be based more on his career numbers, but he did deserve it.

Yes, he was a deserving candidate, but Garnett and Paul were more deserving. Bryant should have finished third in the voting. I do crack up over "this is not an individual award." This coming from the guy whose most shots on the team were double the guy with the second most. His numbers only slipped a little because he missed more shots.

Dude, just stop posting man!  All you Kobe haters are disgusting.  You all try to bring logic and sound as if you are not hating when that is all you are doing.  Ask any player in the league who the best player in the league is, and they will tell you it is Kobe.  No other player in the league commands the presence and respect the way Kobe does.  How were Paul and Garnett more deserving?  They are both phemonal players but to say they were more deserving in just biased hatred and foolish talk. James, Paul, Garnett and Kobe all had outstanding years and either of them could have been named MVP so why is there such controversy over Kobe winning it?  "He should have finished 3rd?"  Do you even watch basketball?  Making a statement like that proves you do not!  The bottom line is the team who won the best record in the west this year was going to have the MVP.  Kobe is far more than just deserving of winning the award, but long overdue.  Both James and Paul will win this award many times before their brilliant young careers are over, but for now, it is about time the media got it right!  What ever personal issues you have against Kobe is on you, but do not try to take away what the man does on the basketball court.  The media finally saw past that and for the first time in a number of years the right MVP was named....and yes that is a shot to Dirk and the second year Nash won it!

That is just another IGNORANT, BLINDLY BIASED post from yet another Kobe hater!!!  Without Gasol we wouldn't be having this conversation?  Please.  Gasol is a very good player and a great fit for the Lakers but he isn't an MVP caliber player.  Secondly, do you really think Paul would have the year he had without all star David West and former all-star Peja Stojakovich?  You are so blind and cannot see past your homeristic views and love for the Hornets to see what every NBA player and every NBA coach recognizes...that Kobe is the best player in the game today and has finally gotten his due!

PS... The Lakers were 15 games over .500 and tied with the Hornets and Spurs for the 1 seed when Gasol was traded to the Lakers.  That should tell your dumb ass that the Lakers were already having a great season without Gasol!!

Being the best player - which, admittedly, Kobe probably is - in the NBA doesn't automatically mean MVP. You could actually say that for any of the four major team sports. Did Kobe have a great year? Yes. Was it an MVP-type year? Yes. However, the big thing for me is not stats, or the fact that people feel he should have won the award in past years. I look at the three teams: Celts, Hornets, and Lakers. All three improved over last season. So you ask yourself: would they have improved that much from last year if Player A didn't have they type of season he had? The Lakers were not that bad last season, and had a solid 17-win improvement. The Celtics had a 40+ win improvement for pete's sake!! Does that happen without the type of season Garnett had? Absolutely not! I don't think that having Gasol should figure in to the debate. Garnett had Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. So it strips down to who meant most to their team. For me, the answer is Garnett.

I can appreciate that Kobe is your favorite player (at least I'm assuming because of your avatar), and it's only expected that you would defend him. However, don't automatically assume that everyone is a Kobe-hater just because they have a different opinion. Can Garnett fans assume that you're a Kevin hater because you don't think he should have won? Fact is, I don't like or dislike Kobe. And you can't put much stock into the awards; the media has a say. It's also the reason why certain deserving players aren't in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Kobe is my favorite player, but I appreciate the game and I don't hate on anyone.  Why should Garnett be MVP?  He was partnered with 2 proven all-stars in the weak Eastern Conference.  He also had the lowest statistical numbers since the 97-98 season.  All 3 players made their teams better and all 3 could have argument to winning it, but why is everyone crying robbery because it is Kobe?  It's because it is Kobe.  In fact this race wasn't even close as Kobe beat Chris Paul by 54 votes.  That is a landslide.  You mean to tell me everyone got this wrong?  It was pratically unanamous.
