And here comes slaton in a futile attempt of humor. Very funny. Maybe you should write for letterman. Jees these WV people are worse than dogs. Atleast you can train a dog. And then in his next post he tries to backpedal to save one of his "cyber friends". I guess if you dont have real companionship, you can fish for friends on cbs.
Well first..it was funny....second...Percy is the one of a very few in the SEC HOMER fan base that has objectivity in his posts..at least he is aware there is other football being played outside of the south..third...I never once said we would have beaten or blown out anyone...but I gotta beleive no program would have run to ring the bell first the day we took OU to the woodshed to help prove your point....
and last....do you think Letterman would give me a shot??...

Slaton So very few sec fans show objectivity huh? Meanwhile you are suggesting that no other team would want to play WVU the day they beat OU. For one, I think LSU fans would give it a try. Ask them. Start a thread. Ask USC fans. start a thread. start a thread and find out how "objective" people think that statement is. No program would want to have to play wvu. PLEASE!

Not too healthy...
Fairly Healthy in another November (USC under Carrol has NOT lost a Game in November!!)

I don't necessarily agree with this, but they beat one of the top teams in the country by 3 TD's that day. Something to be said for that.
They also lost to Pitt, something to be said for that as well.

Oh I think that EVERY top school would have LOVED to play WVU in the Fiesta Bowl that day had they not been playing in the NCG. WVU was a top ten team that had lost thier coach and were ripe for the picking. I am not saying that WVU would have WON vs every team in the BCS Bowl game series but I certainly think they COULD have won the way they played in the Fiesta Bowl. Anyone who says "WVU couldnt beat tOSU, USC, yada yada yada....." is dreaming.
That and I doubt any of those games would be a blowout in any direction.

First, I don't take to being called moron for expessing an opinion on a sports board. Second, had you watched the Fiesta Bowl, which you obviously did not, you would have seen a team on fire, a coach with no pressure, having the time of his life, a bunch of kids with no expectations from anywhere that they stood a chance in the game.
Call me what you will in your long winded, nonsensical posts, but ON THAT DAY, IN THAT STADIUM, WVU WOULD have blown out ANYONE. If you can remember that far back, all the sportswriters and columnists were proclaiming that Oklahoma was the best team in the land, that they should have got the nod over LSU to play in the "title" game.
Thanks some of you 'Eers fans, for a little support, this guy obviously has some sort of issue with us.

Some insight from the King
WVU was a very good team last year and definitely could stand toe-to-toe with any team in the nation. Great speed and athletic team. Props to WVU for a good year.
Now...with that said, saying WVU would blow out any team in the nation at their bowl game because they were pissed and had a mission/attitude/focus or whatever is just plain ignorant and laughable. The truth is that there are probably 6 or 7 teams that could have won the NC last year if the cards fell just right and WVU and OU were just two of them.
Yes, WVU has scoreboard, but that is all in my book. Every team out there had a weakness or two to go with their good points and OU's weaknesses were depth at key spots and they were susceptable to very quick teams. That is why they lost to Texas Tech when their QB went down and they didn't have a backup in the wings capable of keeping their offense on the field.
This is also why they got blown out by WVU. Say what you want but I personally think that the nail in OU's coffin was when their two starting corners were injured and couldn't play against WVU. If those players were able to play, OU puts man-on-man coverage and shuts down their receivers thus allowing them to stack the line of scrimmage just like Pitt did and shut down those runs and easy to spot bubble screens. Without capable backup corners to cover man-on-man the whole thing unraveled on them on defense as they had to drop guys into coverage and disquise their coverages while leaving holes in the interior line. It was like a house of cards and everything fell down around them as WVU exploited this weakness with their speed. I guarantee that with those corners, this is not a blow out game and OU even has a shot at winning the game.
Bottom line: LSU won the NC because the cards fell their way and they had the depth to overcome their injuries. Yes, WVU could have won the NC if things fell just right...but they didn't...and no matter how motivated or whatever B.S. you want to call it....it doesn't matter if you nut up against Pitt...just ask USC about Stanford.
My 2 cents

Let me tell you another reason WVU would have beat ANYONE in that game. The KEY to that game was that OU prepard for the predictable, stuborn play calling of Rodriguez, but on game day WVU played a lot different offense than anyone had seen before. The wide open care free offense was the key to the game. NO team would have been prepared for the passing, straight up the middle runs, the reveses by extremely fast players after a few long passes. Had Fraudriguez let Magee do his job all year, the offense would have looked like that all year.

WVU COULD have blown out any team, but that does not mean they WOULD have. WVU SHOULD have blown out Pitt and did not. If we college football fans SHOULD have learned last season, it is this: on any given Saturday any team COULD beat any team. Look at the list of upsets from the 2007 season:
