I think we are all tired of hearing it. It was funny as last season progressed early on how many of the broadcasters were jumping on the band wagon, but that derailed for good reason.
In regards to Jon Kitna, I also hope Drew Stanton has was it takes to win the job by next season. Dan Orlovsky is no better than a back up.
On the other hand I completely disagree with cglass cutting down Kitna. He does have the makeup to be a winner. He has character, toughness, the ability to lead, and he is a middle of the road quarterback who has shown success (Bengals turn around). Also note that he was allowed to make calls at the line of scrimmage when with the Bengals, and Martz did not allow it. This was already noted as one of the changes under the new coordinator.
I know it's hard for some to believe, but I think Kitna did a phenomenal job under the circumstances. Think about it, we had no run game and no pass protection and he still threw for a ton of yards. The last time the Lions threw for over 4000 yards was Scotty Mitchell in 1995, and that was a year that Barry Sanders rushed for 1500 yards and 11 td's. If we could keep Kitna from being one of the most rushed and sacked QB's in the league he will be fine temporarily. Show a little respect for the man, he's done more for the teams moral and character than any other player in the locker room.
