I certainly hope the Colts don't resign Dominic Rhodes. With the Kenton Keith and Marvin Harrison stories already giving us a black eye, it would be a bad move bringing in a guy who was suspended for violating the league substance abuse rules while with the Raiders last season. I understand that Keith would probably be gone along with his misdemaenor charge (if we sign Rhodes), and that Harrison hasn't been arrested or charged with anything at this point. But with the bad publicity swirling around Indy at the moment, this signing doeesn't seem to be a wise move.

I honest don't think we need him. I am not impressed with Kenton K, but i think he might even lose his spot to Hart who I believe will do well.

I didnt hear what happened with the Raiders just for the problem while he was a Colt. I might change my stance on him if he has had more than one problem. Was it drinking again?

Like I stated in previous messages. I don't want the Colts to pick up Dominic Rhodes. He bailed out on us once after winnig the Super Bowl. He is all about the money. I know he knew that Josheph would be taking over but he could of stayed here in the first place in been the back up for him because they still would have split the carrys. I just think the Colts need to go the other way on this one..

NFL today just announced that the Colts have signed Dominick Rhodes to a 1 year deal. I have always liked Rhodes and I think with him splitting the carries, the Colts running game will be much better this season.

NFL Network says 1 year 605,000 dollar contract. I think that is a little rich. Isn't Dom suspended again? Seems like I heard that somewhere. So if he is suspended how long? and I think 605,000 is way to much to pay for part of a season. I could be wrong about the suspension and if the is the case then we definately got a great deal.
GO Colts!!!

I don't think this is a bad move for the Colts. As far as Dominic Rhodes being all about the money and bolting on the Colts, I don't think thats fair. Can you blame a guy for capitilizing on a MVP worthy Super Bowl performance and leaving a situation where he knew he would be a back-up for a chance to compete to be a starter elsewhere?

If true, Rhoads is an upgrade from KK and he already knows the system and can make an immediate impact. This also gives Hart a year to develop. I do agree that the substance abuse issues don't go well with the other blemishes currently going on. Hopefully, Tony can rite the ship and get everybody doing the right thing on AND off the field. Plus, playing for s Superbowl contender has a way of making players more mindful of their actions.

If he can stay out of trouble he can be a good sign if its a very cheap contract. But if he brings another distraction on the team its a bad sign.

It's not a bad move. He's pretty good, and can help us a lot. I just hope he doesn't get another DUI or anything of that sort.

This isn't a great signing nor is it a horrible signing. Yes, Rhodes helped us during our SB Championship, but time has past and he flopped (along with the rest of the Raiders) when he left via FA.
This move doesn't do much for me...Obviously, he doesn't blow other teams away at this point in his career since he has been sitting on the market and was signed for a relatively cheap salary.

He is a role player that was great at his job and great in the system that he was in. And with that being said, Lets all wait and see how he pans out in camp. If he really wants to contribute and get his spot back he will have to earn it; just like KK MH and anyone else they bring in. If DR flops/doesn't pan out it creates some friendly compition and will force the others to elivate thier game. He just better keep his nose clean I don't want to become the Bengals.

When Edgerin James went down with i believe a torn ACL injury Dominick Rhoads carried the load and did good for the Colts , he's a system player who flourish's in Tom Moore's scheme , Yes I thought he was greedy but these running backs in the NFL don't usually have long careers they just take to much abuse so that being said , I welcome him back he knows the players & the system , And most of all , The experience of the already been there done that mentality , First of all this won't be a free ride if he messes up or just can't get the job done well he'll just have to move on but if he with the help of a usually pretty good offensive line is able to show flashs of the past than I see it as a big plus going into the 08 season . Go COLTS

I believe the Colts will keep 4 RB's/FB's this season. With the departure of Dan Klecko, Luke Lawton has a good chance to stick as the only fullback. If that happens, there will be just two spots beind starter Joseph Addai. The competition will be probably be a three headed race among Mike Hart, Kenton Keith and Dominic Rhodes. Indy could place Hart on the practice squad to start the season. There is an outside chance that 5 are kept if one claims the KR/PR job.
