This isn't good for the MWC to have a up-and-coming team hit with NCAA sanctions.  We at UNLV know all about them.  According the the following link, New Mexico's basketball program faces loss of scholarships and/or loss of post-season eligibility due to academic failures.

New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado State all loose 1 scholarship. Here's a list of the 53 Division I basketball programs that were hit with scholarship sanctions. The typical limit is 13. Arkansas State: Public notice

WOW!  Coach Miles has an uphill battle there in Ft Collins.  How do you rebuild a program when you can't bring in many players for '09?  They lose Walker after next year and can't bring in many reinforcements?  Could they go 0-conference in the regular season again next year?  and the year after?  They may resemble that BYU squad from 96-97(?) that went 1-26 (???) after Walker leaves.

They'd better start combing through the intramural leagues!
