OK - A little help for Dusty in making his lineup tonight.
1. Corey Patterson - CF - He will play Corey because he is left handed and is 0 for 4 lifetime against Zambrano where Freel is right handed and is 3-19 lifetime against Zambrano.
2. Jeff Keppinger - SS - Kepp is 5 for 15 lifetime against Zambrano with a walk and only 1 strikeout. After Patterson whiffs, he has a good chance of getting on base.
3. Brandon Phillips - 2B - .296 against Zambrano
4. Ken Griffey - RF - .364 against with 2hrs and 5 walks
5. Adam Dunn - LF - .235 against Zambrano but has hit 6 HR's off of him.
6. Joey Votto - 1B - 4 for 9 against Zambrano
7. Edwin Encarnacion - 3B - 10 for 31, 2 HR's, and 8 RBI's
8. Javier Valentin - C - .296 against Zmbrano where Ross is .167 and Bako is 0 for 0 with a walk against him.
anyone disagree?
Harang and Zambrano faced each other 6 times last year with the Reds winning 4 of those games. Lets hope the streak continues.

With the win last night I think the Reds can come out tonight with a surge of engery. I hope they win this is a much needed game tonight.

I don't think Valentin will catch because Harang is on the mound. He is more comfortable with the English-speaking catchers, so expect to see Paul Bako.

jzinger,
that lineup would never happen with dusty because he doesn't think 2 lefties can hit back to back. Valentin hasn't started a game since Ross came back, I don't think.
I expect the same lineup as last night. If anything, Dusty would put Patterson in the lineup since he's got that man crush on him.

Hoosier - I am posting on the hopes that Dusty reads Spotsline Reds threads! LOL. This lineup would make the most sense, except for Patterson in the lineup. I just wanted to see what sort of lineup he will really put out there. In his infinite wisdom, he will probably play both Freel and Patterson, giving Griffey the night off feeling that he needs a rest, and is only hitting .364 against Zambrano.

The only part of that lineup that I don't like is Valentine catching because I think Bako will catch and he should because he is right now our best hitting catcher. Ride this guy now because he will not bat this way all season.

Wow I didn't know our hitters had that much success against Zambrano. It gives me hope for our offense today.

That lineup will not happen- too many lefties together.
Key to facing Zambrano- patience. Sooner or later, he will miss his spots, walk people, and get pi$$ed at himself or the ump- then nail him.

Let's all hope Aaron Harang throws B-Bs tonight and gets some run support for a change. Everything worked out for Cueto last night, including a Houdini-esque ninth inning from Cordero. Let's see the same from and for Harang tonight!
GO, Reds!

its time for Z to take a loss. Harrang needs to back a few batters off the plate tonight ,and i mean close calls. maybe even hit Lee about hip high. then paint the outsides.
Reds 5
Cubs 2

I like Keppinger in the 7 hole. He is the best Reds hitter with runners in scotring position and he gives Dunn some protection.
It is also nice to have someone in the bottom third of the line-up who is not an automatic out. Bako helps there too. When you have Gonzalez and Ross in there, the 7,8, and 9 spots are free outs for the opposing pitcher.
This line-up has looked good so far. I say stick with this for a while.
