Why not decide until after the Western Conference. Clearly at this point through the regular season and the playoffs Chris Paul is just as deserving if not more deserving.
He is proclaimed as the best point guard since Pistol Pete...After New Orleans wins the Western Conference final and eventually the NBA championship, it will be even more evident that he is without a doubt the MVP.

Kobe has been one of the most selfish basketball players that has ever played this game. If it wasn't for Shaq he would not have gotten those three rings. Yes he has improved but there is no doubt in my mind who the MVP of the league is.
Chris Paul has averaged approximately 20 pts per game with a decent FG% 48.8, leads the league in assists and steals. These stats don't lie as to the complete basketball player that he is. He is obviously a team player and most important he has made his team better.
You can make the same argument for Kobe but Kobe does not have the same impact on his team as Chris does. Kobe is replaceable. And please I don't want to hear any comparisons to Michael Jordan because there is nobody like his greatness.
When it is all send and done Chris Paul is the real MVP and like any other real star that came before him he will go down in the annals of NBA history as one of the greats.
Chris is irreplaceable.

You can say "Kobe would not have won a championship without Shaq" all you want. Would Paul and the Hornets be where they are without say David West?? I highly doubt it. Quit fooling yourself, give credit where credit is due. If CP3 won the MVP I would have said it was well deserved, although I would feel Kobe should have got it, I would not sit here and hate on Paul for getting it. I do not see how you say Kobe is so selfish when he is the facilitator on the best passing team in the NBA. Nowadays you have to have a second if not third all star on your roster, ala Kobe and Shaq in their title run era. There is not a single player in the game, aside from Lebron, that can take over any game at anytime like Kobe, and I mean completely dominate a game. This MVP is well deserves, now on to bigger and better things. Time to tryo to take out Utah and make it a WCF with the Horents!!

Yo Objective fan, you're not objective, you are LAME. All I have to see is your lame avitar to not take you serious at all. The Dolphins? You might as well admit that you are the reigning mascot for all Kobe Haters. C'mon man, get a life! Kobe already has 3 rings and is hungrier than ever to win another one. I really don't see any team getting in the way of that goal, and that includes the Celtics. Yo, change your avitar. It's pathetic! Go Lakers!!!!!!

Tell me something though. When did David West start coming on as an NBA player? When CP3 came into the organization. You can say it takes time for a big man to develop and what have you, or that there was a coaching change, but his success coincides with that of his point guard. So give credit where credit is due, just like you said.

"The best point guardsince Pistol Pete"
Dude, did you happen to watch any basketball after 1979? This happens to be when the greatest point gaurd of all time was winning an NCAA championship, NBA MVP awards and NBA championships. His name was Magic Johnson. Google him.

So you're telling me Paul is the reason for the 15 footer West can nail with his eyes closed? This is a big difference as say Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin when they were on the Nets. Kidd completely made Martin, Martin doesn't have much game as far as low-post or good shooting, West does. I will give credit where credit is due, like I said since the last week of the regular season, either Kobe or CP is well deserving of it. I would just not go as far to say that Paul has made West into what he is.

Talk about making players around you better, look at the development of Sasha, Walton, and Farmar and how their games have improved very significantly while Radmanovich and Odom have become better all around players rather than just scorers. Yes, Chris Paul is a great young player and my hat is off to the Hornets (may they sweep the Spurs) but Kobe, like him or not, has paid his dues in the league and is well deserved of the 2007-2008 MVP.
