seriously...are they being for real when they make those accusations that Gabe Saez knew Eight Belles was injured...and that they want the 400k revoked if hes at fault..which he isnt! she had her ears pricked and she was as hapyas can be when she crossed the finish line...its was 1/4 mile after when she collapsed onto the track. also..the ban on whipping isnt gonna happen...the horses respond to the sound of the "crack" and they whip them to protect the "green" horses from crashing into the rail..since they like to veer in and out of the stretch.
but i do have one thing to say....breeding in america focuses on speed, not stamina, stregnth, nor stability. these horses are weaker, and the breed has gotten noticably quicker in the past 100 years..but their little legs have gotten spindly and thinner.
and to anyone who says that the owners of Eight Belles are out for themselves and hte $$..youre wrong..they are there for hte welfare of the horse, and if it were an option, they would have done anything to save Eight Belles. these owners have compassion for these animals...they were so distraught..Larry Jones summed it up in a few words on how upset he was on her passing...."i didnt get a chance to even say goodbye to her"
