there is no one player more important to his team than Chris Paul. he took a team from dumps to trumps, and he deserves the mvp.

Unfortanetly only one player can be the MVP. This year there were several worthy prospects like Chris Paul, LeBron James, and Kevin Garnett but only one could get the honors. Kobe Bryant just happened to be the recipent this year. I belive there are players that are more valuable to their teams and are much better team players but for an individual performer Kobe Bryant deserves it. But in my eyes I feel the "MVP" should go to the player that is the biggest asset to his team and in that case I don't belive Kobe should be the one recieving this honor.

Haha this is his first year, he doesnt deserve anything but recognition.  He deserves to miss the MVP just like Kobe has.  Don't get me wrong, the kid has done great, but the Lakers would jus be good without Kobe, not great.  And who's forgetting Paul, I hear just as much ranting and raving as I do for kobe

Hosed!!! Chris Paul did more than Kobe. Sorry, but since Kobe is in a major market, he gets the roll. But Paul has brought it night in and night out, and carried a team that was not even in the playoff equation at the start of the season. You can argue that the Lakers were not either, but it was expected the Lakers would get in.
I hope he takes his rejection out on the Sterns.

Pauls a nice little pg, but has never won on any level. He's yet to prove he's a winner. A champion. Plus he plays weak defensively, other than going for steals like Iverson. They're both weak defensively. Kobe on the other is the clear mvp. The most dominant player in the league. Best player offensively and defensively. A true champion on and off the court. It was a no brainer giving him the award. this should've been his fourth, not first

I know the MVP should have nothing to do with the postseason, but hopefully Paul and Kobe will meet in the Western Conference Finals.  That is the only way this debate can be settled.

Im sad that Chris Paul lost the MVP, but Kobe should definitely win at least one in his career. Still, Chris Paul will continue to improve his numbers each year, and watch for him to get three MVP's in a row. He is going to be one of the best PG in the game. Don't let me down Chris Paul!!!

" but it was expected the Lakers would get in"

Look I will root againt #24 every series but Give me a break
ArizonaAggie  - it was expected that Bryant would be traded. Don't insult us by rewriting history, boy.  We know how the offseason went.

"not even in the playoff equation at the start of the season".

They almost made it last season. Come on man read up on basketball!!! God almighty get your facts straight.

Paul's a future hall of famer likely and in the top 3 best PG.

But to say that Bryant won because he's in a major market is totally idiotic. You seem like a bitter bitter fan and I wish you find a new sport to misunderstand.
