I know people(mostly Jerks,i mean Jets fans) are sick and tired of me trying to build up some momentum of hope for our beloved Dolphins this year, but fellow fish fans,I am really feeling good about this season.First understand,Im not crazy,I REALLY believe that you can change the fortunes of any orginization with the right people in charge.I also believe that with the wrong people in charge, great dynasties can be sabatoged. If Rick Spielman and Cam Cameron were running the Patriots or Colts you would see those teams eventually fall off.The Parcells,Ireland regime is for real. These guys know how to win,and even though you wont hear them say it,I believe there is sneeky optimisum surrounding this team.If you follow the Dolphins like I do,you had to see last year coming. How many times were we wondering when, not if,the Defense, which has carried this team for the last 7 years, would finally tap out. When Satan,I mean Saban, was coach we were all wondering if the Defense would hold up,and that was three years ago.Its sort of like duct tape,as great as a invention it is,you know you have to eventually replace it.We wont trade JT no matter what every one is saying, because we need him.If they had drafted Chris Long or that overrated guy the Jets drafted,I would say differently.I am not saying its playoff time, but I look at the schedule, and 8-8 is a real posibility. And I think I can speak for all of us,Parcells and Ireland included, when i say that 8-8 would be highly acceptable after what we went through last year.

I think the Dolphins can be an 8-8 team, and in the playoffs next year.
The good thing about having Parcells around is that the is an intimidating guy, and players have such respect for him that they don't want to screw up and work harder than say if Dave Wandstedt was the coach. He demands so much respect because he's earned it, and the players are willing to give it to him.
Just read what the rookies are saying about him at camp. How he is a legend and they grew up watching this guy's teams do great.
It's kind of like a rookie getting to play with Jerry Rice... he's a living legend that everyone knows, and many players comming into the league watched him when they were kids/teenagers, and finally got the chance to play with him.
When there's someone on the team like that, you want to do was much as you can to improve yourself to try to impress the player/coach/VP.

WE WONT be getting pushed around this year, and WE WONT beat ourselves!!if we had that mentality last year we would have went 8-8.But then Cameron and Speilman would still be here.Things happen for a reason.Last year was a blessing in disguise.

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't mind having another long season & getting the 1st pick next year. One reason why: Michael Crabtree. Think he's going to be an incredible NFL WR. Just imagine Crabtree & Ginn together & if Henne turns out to be solid, wow. But I know when the season starts, I'll be rooting for them to win every game & make the playoffs, but if it doesn't happen this year, Crabtree is exactly what we'll need to put more points on the board.

Dude are you serious in wanting to go through anything resembling last year.Personally I think speak for alot of Dolphin fans when I say were tried of losing and being up high on the draft board. I would love to see us go 8-8 or 9-7 and have some sort of chance with four games left to make to the playoffs just some sort of chance. We ain't been there in six very long season. But this year were going to get closer.

Swatland your crazy! i never want the first pick in the draft ever again unless its another teams' and we get it thru a trade. i also think 8-8 is pushing it. Our secondary is pretty bad, we have a big question at QB - whoever wins is going to go thru growing pains, and we have new coach/ O Coordinator/ D Coordinator/ O Line/ D Line, etc..
After looking at their schedule, i'm hoping for at least 6 wins, wouldn't be surprised if it were 5, but who knows maybe we'll all be surprised at how quickly they mesh.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping we have a good year & I know we'll be better than last year. I'm just saying if we do have another bad season, Michael Crabtree will be there. Have you seen this guy play? He's going to be an awesome NFL player.
Calm down, it was just a crazy thought, i'll be rooting just as hard as any dolphin fan when the 1st game arrives.

8-8 is a reachable record. the running game will be uncontrollable. which means that whoever is at quaterback (probly Mccown for this year) will not be counted on to carry the team. as far as the secondary is concerned, its not too bad except for one of the corner spots, and it will only get better with the additions to the front seven. if you think about we basically addressed the majority of our needs.
linebacker help- Akin Ayodele/Reggie Torbor/Charlie anderson
tight end help- Anthony Fasano
secondary help- Keith Davis/Chris Crocker/Nate Jones/ (and we resigned bell and lehan)
DLine depth- Jason Fergurson/Randy Starks/Philip Merling/Kendall Langford/Lionel Dotson
help at guard- Justin Smiley/Shawn Murphy/Donald Thomas
receiver help- Ernest Wilford/tab perry
special teams makeover (way too many names but i'll tell you anyway)- keith davis/nate jones/tab perry/boomer grigsby/sean ryan/charlie anderson/jereme perry/joey thomas/will billingsley
now im not saying we rid ourselves of every flaw, but name me a need are that we did not address

I have to agree with you on this one ,don't ever want the overall again.Your also right no more than 5-6 wins this year.Right on with the QB growing pains, plus Jake Long will probally have some growing pains himself, the line must develop chemistry. Secondary has big questions. I would love to see 8 wins but I believe that this team has finally turned it around personel and coaching being greatly improved.

I'd rather not hope for the first pick to get Crabtree. There is going to be plenty of WRs that step up this year, and show they are worth a first round pick.
Plus look what happened this year... all the WRs fell much later than expected.
Look at my boy Joe Flacco... when the season started he was lucky to be mentioned in the 5th round for this past draft, and a when the season ended he was being mentioned with the 3rd round picks, then he has good pro day and combine and he is moved up to an early second round projection, then a couple days before the draft people are talking about teams trading up in the first to grab him.
There are plenty of stories like this every year... and for every surprise riser, there's those surprise fallers... like LenDale White, Brady Quinn... and half of the WRs that were drafted this year.
I'm not totally against having the first pick, but I wouldn't already say that Crabtree is the guy to get... you never know how free agents, and players like Hagan or even Camarillo are going to turn out.
With the schedule this year I think its possible to get 8 wins.
we play the Jets, and Pats tough... and the Bills aren't any super team to worry about.
The Cardinals, Ravens, 49ers, Raiders and Chiefs aren't the scariest teams in the world.
The Seahawks, Rams, and Broncos aren't the most consistent teams around.
We play the Chargers fairly early in the season, and with Rivers and Tomlinson both comming off of knee injuries (plus the loss of Neal and Olivea blockin for LT) they can be stopped on offense.
The Texans are good, but not juggernauts of the NFL.
We've got 16 winnable games on the schedule. (of course I don't think the Dolphins are going 16-0, but I am saying I don't see a 5 win season)
And remember... who was the last team to beat the Patriots in regular season...THE Dolphins did, and not only did they beat them, they shut them out 21-0. Thats 3 TDs to no points at all.

After we win 5 or 6 games this year we are most likely getting the 6-8 pick. With that pick its going to be LB James Laurinaitis or CB Malcolm Jenkins which will both look frickin fantastic in Aqua and Orange! Uh huh, gonna be sweet in a year or two down in Miami baby! Gonna be sweet!
We're building a monster line to push people around and throw deep, next season we start building that #1 NFL defense anew!

No way we get the first overall pick this year.Josh McCown is better than you guys think, and if we can keep him outta situations where he has to play superman, well be ok.As far as IF we do get a top 5 pick, there Is no question that I would draft Matthew Stafford of Georgia. Those who have not seen him play, pay close attention this year, especially when the Dogs come to Jacksonville and smash the Gators again.

That makes no sense at all. That would be 3 QB's in three years in the first 2 rounds ain't happening.

Dosnt matter, you wont win without a stellar Quarterback in this league.By then we will know if John Beck is acceptable by the Big Tuna.My guess here is that he will see the field this year, but wont be effective enough to warrent off challenges from McCown and Henne.Beck could be packing by next year.
