the Marlins are an after-thought......if they have air time to fill on sports programs, they may show a play......big thing sunday, maddux did not get his 350th.....come on, the marlins will not win a play off spot, but they are a better story than the Orioles, they have a better record now, and will finish with a better record than them.......a rookie beat maddux, badenhop will get better, volstad will be there soon......it's going to be fun in miami.
the Marlins are an after-thought like they should be. management treats them like they don't even care whether they win or lose, so why should anybody else care. they will be in a season long battle for last place w/ the Nationals. baltimore is a team with a good history and people actually want to root for this team, so of course they are a better story. i don't care about the marlins and neither does anyone else. just move this team out of florida already.
You missed the whole point of the article. its not that the O's are tied for second or that they have had the most wins in a month since 2005, its the changing atmosphere around the team. Im an O's fan and ya'll probably cant relate but its been TERRIBLE here under angelos and this team is showing signs of getting back to the "Oriole Way" of sound fundamental baseball and a solid team atmosphere, now we dont have and delusions of winning the division or making the playoffs, the article was indicating that tings are beginning to turn around here in the Charm City.
And I give props to your Marlins, they are playing awesome ball with such a low payroll and i'm rooting for them to keep it up.
No way are the Marlins a bigger story than the Orioles this year so far. Better team? Perhaps, but that remains to be seen. The point is we all know the Marlins are going to firesale every third year and do whatever they do without spending any money. The Orioles, on the other hand, have decided to completely revamp the way they do business. They've restocked the farm, they're looking to play moneyball style rather than sign overpriced overaged free agents. They'reno longer afraid of what needs to be done, and the beginning of the effect are beginning to be seen. This year is about changing the culture, the future is about changing the win-loss columns.
