Official Pens vs Flyers thread

Some of you Pens fans crack me up. You're the same fanbase that cheered for Darius Kasparitis, yet Steve Downie is public enemy No. 1 now be/c he hit Sykora half-second after the puck went into the net on a goal that probably sealed the Flyers' season-ending fate. Can you say frustration? Justified frustration!!!

Come on, dude. I think the majority of Hockey fans, not just Pens fans, think that Kasper was a joke. I've alway been a huge fan of the Pens but have never appreciated him. I know that most players that are hated are only hated because they play for a different team. Kasper is the exception. He was, is, and most likely always will be, a complete ass.

And please don't make excuses for Downie. Frustration??? I didn't see any other Flyers knocking Pens players on thier ass after the goal was scored. I cant imagine there were no other Flyers experiencing frustration. You say that Downie was the one who essentially gave up the goal. There were 4 other players for the the Flyers who could have prevented it. What Downie did was a very STUPID thing.

Speak for yourself...I LOVED Kasper, I still have his Pens jersey. KO'ing Lindros on that open ice car wreck. How can you not love that guy on your team? Just like if I'm a Flyers fan I smugly appreciate Downies hit out of my own frustration with the series.

Kasper was a tremendous open ice checker and also great at drawing penalties. Kasper was awesome!

Hey Pens fans - it is NOT over yet. Believe me, I watched the '75 Islanders-Penguins series (where the Islanders came back from 3-0) and I still wince every time I think about it. The Flyers have a lot of heart and could win a few . . . let's keep the congratulations for when the handshakes are done. One more, and then we can talk Redwings.
