Where do you prefer Hanley Ramirez in the Marlins batting order?

I'm not even sure which I prefer yet, so I'll not even vote. All I know is he's defenitely got potential to rack up alot of RBIs at that spot, as long as he doesn't try to do too much. On the other hand, you can't ask for a better lead off hitter. I don't know yet, I'll have to see more. What do you think?

Cody Ross looks pretty darn good hitting lead-off and playing CF for the Marlins-- If he is finally declared the everyday CF, it would do good for the Marlins because it will give the team a guy in CF that could be of help both defensively and offensively, unlike Amezaga.

With the production that Cody brings on both ends, I would not mind seeing him bat leadoff and dropping Hanley Ramirez to third, a position in which he seems to be as big a threat as he is when batting leadoff. But if the plan is to give Amezaga most of the start in CF, then I say put Hanley back at the leadoff spot because Amezaga is an out waiting to happen in that spot.

Why start off every game with a garunteed out? Amezega has no discipline at the plate, and I'm almost convinced we'd be better leading off with a pitcher than with him.

What the Marlins can do is when ever they plan on starting Amezaga is plug in the pitcher in the 8th hole and bat Amezaga 9th.

You're right, they do do that. I noticed that the other night when I was watching that Cardinals game on ESPN. Amezega has potential to be better than he is, if he wouldn't be so quick to swing all the time. I actually have more faith in Hendrickson at the plate than Amezega. That's pretty bad isn't it?

why you guys hating on Alfredo?

he has no plate discipline???? then why does he lead the team in walks and have the fewest amount of strikeouts, however, i think Hanley should be leading off.

Hanley Ramirez
Jeremy Hermida
Josh Willingham
Mike Jacobs
Jorge Cantu
Dan Uggla
Matt Treanor
Alfredo Amezaga

Send down Rabelo, bring up Hoover
Send down Miller, bring up Volstad
Trade Gregg for a SP, Lindstrom to closer.

I agree, everybody we got in the Detroit trade is garbage. Usually good old Larry finds a way to screw over other teams in trades but our old GM isn't a fool. Rabelo can't do much of anything but strike out with RISP and Miller pitches batting practice. Volstad is a stud that should have made the team out of spring training and Lindstrom is a beast 100MPH! LINDSTR100MPH!

See up to that point I was somewhat in agreement with you.

But once you said this:Send down Rabelo, bring up Hoover
Send down Miller, bring up Volstad
Trade Gregg for a SP, Lindstrom to closer.
I knew you had gone crazy. I will leave it at that.

firestormer and kcuss,

Are you two the same person? Your join dates are almost identical, and your posts always seem to conveniently be a couple minutes apart.

I dont see what you like about what i said.
Rabelo aint doing nothing, Treanor needs to be playing along with Hoover.

And it certainly can not be anything about Miller and Volstad, cuz Volstad is by far the better pitcher, if you dont believe me wait until he finally gets called up.

As for Gregg, closers are overrated and they are always worth good trade value.

And no i am not that other dude. Big deal we joined around the same date, this is my 2nd sportsline account, my other one got banned.

I dont see why Hoover doesnt get the chance.  But he is in  the same boat as Volstad.  Miller and Rabelo are being looked out as Willis and Cabrera and they dont want that trade to look horrible at the moment so they are trying to get something out of them.

Mike Rabelo is still trying to get his leagues under him, at least offensively with the Marlins after starting the season on the DL- He has been solid defensively for this team, and his bat will come around.

Andrew Miller as we all know, was rushed by the Tigers to the big leagues and also by the Marlins, he has no pitched beyond Double-A in his young career and one can attribute his early season struggles to that, but in his last start he made some improvement and if you look back he has been solid in his last 2 out of 3 games, so hopefully he can build on that.

So I disagree with your comments as to how the trade with the Tigers turned out, I think the production of the players we got in return in comparison to the players they got is in our favor- Dontrelle Willis is on the DL, and Miguel Cabrera is on his way to being a career DH, you be the judge? If anything the trade is even.

Paul Hoover already had his chance and is now down in the minos- in reality that is all he is- a career minor leaguer. As for Volstad, his time will come just like Cameron Maybin and Dallas McPherson.

That's cool, just asking.
