Well Saturday was quite a day for me hitting my strongest horse release I have ever had with a 50* Winner on Big Brown, along with the easy Oaks/Derby Double. Also cashed with my 10* pick getting second($6.40) and hitting the exacta ($36.40) and also two more firsts with 5*'s ($10.80 & $5.20) and two more exactas in those races ($42.20 & $18.40) and 2 more seconds ($5.20 , $4.00) all this was in 13 races I selected. I have been touting Big Brown since just before the Florida Derby and I know I turned alot of people on to the winning horse. There have been so many people sending me thanks, and again when I win there is no need to send me thanks because you can be sure I was on the horse too and that is my thanks. So the triple crown marketing machine comes here to Baltimore starting next week and no doubt Big Brown will be 2-5 in the Preakness. Also no doubt that very few horses that ran in the Derby will make the trip to Charm City, Big Brown did quite a job of scaring off the competition. Sunday's card at both Belmont and Hollywood provide several excellent betting opportunities and I have 12 horses selected along with the rating and my betting strategy:
BELMONT- 10* Race 6 #1 Aqab (5/1 M/L) Win/Place Bet, Exacta Boxes 1-8, 1-6... Sunday's first 10* is once again on the turf, #1 Aqab was a 1.45 million purchase as a yearling. Regally bred by Empire Maker (who is by Unbridled) out of a Seattle Slew mare this colt has ran 3 times as a 2 year old including 2 forgettable races on dirt and a second place finish trying turf for the first time, at a mile and 1/16th. Then took 90 days off and came back on the turf and was bet down to the favorite but lost all chance early being steadied repeatedly. Aqab took another 60 days off and tried polytrack at Keeneland which he didn't like. Today he goes at a distance he has already earned a second place finish at and against other horses that have either never run on turf or have never been better than 4th on turf. #1 Aqab is a standout and should be bet down heavily form the morning line of 5/1, he gets the surface he wants and the distance he needs to be Sunday's 10* play of the day...
10* Race 9 #8 Sweetest Kiss (3/1 M/L) Win/Place Bet, Exacta Boxes 8-3, 8-5... I have never had two 10*'s in the same day but Sunday I cannot downgrade either of these plays after repeated attempts. #8 Sweetest Kiss is going 6 furlongs on the turf and has ran once before on turf getting a 5th place finish. What makes this race important is two things, firstly she got the highest Beyer speed figure she has ever gotten in that race, second that race is turning into a key race. Eibar Coa picks up the mount and he is well known for his excellent riding ability on the turf. In addition two recent works on turf are quite good and point this filly out as fit and ready, so #8 Sweetest Kiss is Sunday's second 10* play of the day....
5* Race 8 #3 Love Co (12/1 M/L) Win/Place Bet, Exacta Boxes 3-5, 3-8
3* Race 1 #7 Western Slang (3/1 M/L) Win/Place Bet, Daily Double 7/3,6.................... Race 3 #2 Lady Byar (9/5 M/L) Win Bet, Exacta Box 1-2..................................................... Race 7 #1 Are We Dreamin (6/1 M/L) Win/Place Bet, Exacta Boxes 1-2, 1-6.......
HOLLYWOOD
5* Race 1 #4 Seven Point One (7/2 M/L) Win/Place bet, Exacta Boxes 4-7, 4-2, Daily Double 4/4,5,11
Race 2 #4 Veryrq (5/1 M/L) Win/Place Bet, Exacta Boxes 4-5, 4-11................................. Race 5 #2 Glorified (5/1 M/l) Win/place Bet, Exacta boxes 2-5, 2-1.................................. Race 8 #8 Cayambe (6/1 M/L) Win/Place Bet, Exacta Boxes 8-6, 8-1, Daily Double 8/3,6,11
