It is time for Shelly duncan and Jason Giambi to split time 50/50.  Giambi is lousy at the plate, and worse than he's ever been in the field.  Every game he makes mistake that may not count as an error, but is a play a decent first baseman makes.  At the plate, he refuses to try to go to the opposite field.  He continues to defy logic and try to hit into a wall of players.  It is getting ridiculous.  Here are some stats to back up my logic.

The Yankees are 6-1 this season when Giambi doesn't play.  The Yankees were 52-27 last season when Giambi didn't play, and 42-41 when he did play.

I couldn't agree more. Not only is your point valid for dividing the time 50/50 with Duncan...BUT Why is this batting 5th or 6th in the lineup???!!!

When does that end? I would guess if you avergae is sitting at .200 or lower come middle of May you HAVE to be dropped.

By the end of this month, you guys will be cheering for him.  He's gonna come around. He's healthy, and this is a contract year, so I expect the Giambino to get hot soon.

You may be right with Giambi.  Although 5 hr's and 16 ribby's are not that bad.  Yes the avg is horrible.   Bonds ???  Can't do it.  How can we root for that guy.   There's gotta be someone else, in a contract year that we can get.

I'm not so sure that this year being a walk year is going to make a difference. His problem is vey simple; he keeps hitting into the shift. He's hitting the ball hard but directly at the fielders who cover the entire right side. Until he can learn how to hit the opposite way occasionaly or bunt down the 3B line, he'll keep on getting burned by the shift.

Hey listen,

7 HR's and 19 RBI's for a guy batting .178 is not that bad.
He is
